  • Tranquil and totally relaxing

Stayed in the Honey Bee Cottage which was located in the meadow a short walk down the hill from the main house.

The cottage was very comfortable and beautifully decorated, with windows on all sides to take in the lovely views.

Relaxing in the hot tub was amazing. Breakfast provided by the hosts Scott & David was very nice.

    Would definitely stay again!

  • Really is a Paradise Getaway!

It had been seven years since I first stayed at Frog Meadow, and after moving across the country to within an easy driving distance from this place, I came back for a weekend retreat of yoga and health workshops. The place seems to have gotten better with age – the owners Scott and Dave really have created a paradise on this Southern Vermont hilltop – great views, beautifully landscaped private expanse.
Dave is a great cook and they make fully inclusive meals with honey from their beehives and herbs from their garden. Scott is a sharp host who takes time to get to know each guest.
They just run a terrific operation: the staff is trained to be friendly and attentive without being too intrusive. Accommodations feel country but not rustic. Interior furnishings feel comfortable and updated. They really make a point of wanting you to feel like you are a part of a family home, and they deliver that experience a hundred times over.
Will definitely be back, and not after so long away!

  • Another Phenomenal Stay at Frog Meadow

My partner and I came to Frog Meadow for a quick weekend from Westchester County NY, It was so nice to return to a peaceful and serene area.

The grounds of the property are beautiful and very zen-like. We spent time sunning at pond, and enjoying the peacefulness of the property. Being at Frog Meadow as a returning Guest, you are treated as close family member. The gourmet breakfasts are phenomenal and incredible.

We stayed in the main house, in the spacious South Room, which had tons of space, an incredible housekeeping team, which delivered any request spontaneously. Dave and Scott are not only the amazing proprietors, but also family members to make sure your stay is absolutely perfect and incredibly restful.

  • So Hospitable!

  • Amazing, Therapeutic and Relaxing Experience

This is a beautiful trip from wherever you come from, green everywhere. The property is cozy and welcoming, the main house has everything you need for a long weekend.

The trails make you feel you are in the middle of nowhere and you go back to the beautiful property grounds to relax. An amazing great clear pond, the hot tub is just perfect and it is the center of the house, and the views to the gardens and mountains are superb.

Scott and Dave are very sweet and make you feel at home. Great breakfast and options for food and any supplies you need are 3-5 miles away. My recommendation is to get your supplies (wine 🙂 before you go and just rest and enjoy the peace of FMF.

We also have the opportunity to meet great people. The staff (Jay and Ben) are great and always willing to assist you.

Something important to me was the WIFI and it works awesome (in case you need to work), lastly was Dave’s massage, amazing, therapeutic and relaxing experience.

    I will absolutely come back!

  • 14th Stay…No Place Comes Close!

We just returned from what I think was our fourteenth stay at Frog Meadow. And yes we have come to think of it as our home away from home.

It is one of the few places on earth where we know we are going to be able to unwind, unplug and RELAX.

Scott and Dave make sure of that. Every detail of our stay form arrival to departure is always coordinated to make sure our sojourn is just what we want, need and have come to expect.

We can’t recommend Frog Meadow more highly. There is no place we’ve stayed that comes close to what the Frog Meadow experience gives us. Can’t wait to go back

    Nick S. , NYC, NY
  • Same Time Next Year!

    See you then!

  • Definitely Going Back!

    This was amazing!
Stayed here for two days with my good friend. Room was spectacular. Breakfast was amazing. Swimming pond was refreshing and wood fired hot tub was fantastic.
Took advantage of the massages: To kill for, Soooooo relaxing!
Everything was clothing optional and it felt so natural and wonderful.
Dave and Scott were both so friendly.
    Definitely going back!

  • This Place is Truly One of a Kind!

My fiancé and I stayed here over the summer for a few days. We loved the atmosphere waking up in our lovely little Cottage.
The wood-fired hot tub was a plus along with the outdoor shower with a fantastic view.
The wonderful homemade breakfast in the morning was delightful.
The other guests were phenomenal! The hiking trails we went on twice were amazingly relaxing.
This place is truly one of a kind…Overall a wonderful place!

  • Relaxing and Peaceful!

I have stayed here many times for over 10 years. This is such a special place…relaxing and peaceful!

Scott and Dave are amazing hosts and do everything they can to help make your stay extra special.

I would highly recommend your next visit to stay with them on their gorgeous property.

  • A Beautiful, Safe and Stimulating Oasis for Men is More Important than Ever!

I had an amazing stay at Frog Meadow. Scott and Dave are consummate hosts, available when needed but never hovering or making you feel like you are being watched. I had a massage with Dave and it was sublime, he has magic hands!

The other guests were interesting and fun. We all hung and visited with each other in and around the wood fired hot tub which has the perfect view of the gardens with the mountains in the background.

Breakfasts were delicious, hot and made to order. The conversation around the table was interesting with guys from all over the country and even a couple from Copenhagen.

I stayed in the Brook Cottage which is a magical little spot with it’s own waterfall outside the window. It is secluded and private but close to everything. The entire place is immaculately clean.

With everything going on in the US and the world these days having an escape to a beautiful, safe and stimulating oasis for men is more important than ever.

  • [Frog Meadow was] The Absolute Highlight of our Trip!

During our three weeks trip between Manhattan and Quebec, our days at the Frog Meadow Farm were the absolute highlight.

The combination of the wonderful location in the middle of woods and the great hosts made our stay perfect and relaxing.

We had wonderful breakfasts, enjoyed the recommended hiking and bike trails and got great foods at the restaurants in the area.

    Hans F. & Josef M., Vienna, Austria
  • Peaceful, Friendly and Relaxing

Scott and Dave were great hosts. The breakfast was fresh and the hot tub was the major attraction.

The rooms were clean and Jay made us feel welcome!

The other guests were quite friendly and respectable.

It was such a nice getaway, peaceful and relaxing!

Mahbubul S, Long Island City, NY
  • Chill Vibe and Killer Views

Frog Meadow is by far one of my favorite vacation spots.

I’ve visited several times in recent summers, and each time Scott and Dave deliver — a warm / chill vibe, clean and comfortable property, and killer views.

The Brook Cottage is idyllic. Surrounded by lush woods, only the sound of the brook, and just steps away from the main house. I could live there.

    Jeff B., New York, NY
  • Terrific, Relaxing Week in a Gorgeous Setting

My spouse and I just returned from a week at Frog Meadow. It was a honeymoon-lite, sandwiched between our marriage and closing on a new house. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend it.

The house and grounds are beautiful and superbly maintained. Dave and Scott, the proprietors, are friendly, helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable about the area. Other staff (esp. Jay) were around and helpful but never bothersome.

Location — Secluded, remote, quiet, safe. Dirt roads (mostly) once off the Interstate. I had no cell service but the campus-wide was super fast and reliable. The sat nav (Starlink) in the car got us everywhere we needed to be.

Room — We stayed in the Carriage House Suite which was amazing (and, truth be told, probably more than we needed). Full kitchen, private bath, washer dryer, private deck, BBQ grill, etc. It was a worthwhile splurge (again: honeymoon) and it could not have been nicer.

Massages by Dave — First-rate; thorough and professional – and worth every penny. I also liked that arranging them did not require anything more than a conversation with Dave over breakfast.

Hot tub — Amazing and unique. The nearby deck chairs and table provided a nice gathering place for guests throughout the week.

Pond — Beautiful to look at but cold! The nearby hammock was a wonderful respite.

Food — Big, hearty, homemade breakfasts that started with fruit, granola, and yogurt each day. Examples of mains and sides: eggs/bacon/muffins; french toast/sausage; pancakes/bananas+walnuts/bacon; peach waffles/bacon. Breakfasts are eaten around a communal table and it was a delightful way to meet the other guests and talk about plans for the day.

Rock River — We did not make it to Rock River (I have a weak ankle and we were worried about the amount of rain we’d received). However, several other guests did go and had a good time. It’s on the list for our next visit.

Brattleboro — We ventured into town for dinners a few of the nights, and had good luck with flatbread pizza, Chinese, and Indian food, and the subsequent leftovers from each. Definitely call places in advance to confirm that they’re open. There is also a communal fridge (if you’re in a room without one) where you can store food and drink for the week if you wanted to bring groceries.

Guests — A real high point of the week was the other men we met at Frog Meadow. The age range was roughly 30-70’s; singles and couples and at least one pair of friends; all shapes and sizes; folks from VT and from as far away as Mississippi and Copenhagen; some people were nude a lot and others not at all. People were friendly and interesting and generally pleasant. No attitude / drama to speak of and just a comfortable, non-judgmental atmosphere.

Overall, we were very pleased with our visit. I was worried that five days / four nights might be too much and now I regret not having stayed longer. We’ll definitely be back in 2024!

    Andrew & Kevin, Montpelier, VT
  • It’s love, it’s community, it’s home –  and I cannot thank you enough for sharing it with me.

It seems futile to attempt expressing my immense gratitude for this week here. However, I would regret not trying, so here it goes:As someone who spends more than his fair share of time inside his head it should come as a little surprise how desperate I am for connection. In a lot of ways, that desire is what guided me to Frog Meadow. Though skeptical, I decided to take a chance on a place I was convinced could not be real. Even writing this, I struggle to fully comprehend the magic that so peacefully resides here. That might just be my biggest Takeaway. A reminder that there are people, places, and experiences that demand to be felt in spite of apprehension.I wasn’t sure what I would find here, but it has been greater than my most unbridled, dreams and passions. It’s love, it’s community, it’s home –  and I cannot thank you enough for sharing it with me.

A part of me has been restored, a part I haven’t realized I’ve been missing. So with that, I share my deepest gratitude, at least as much as words can convey. With love from a boy still figuring it all out.

  • Fantastic. Outstanding. Will be Back!

This place is fantastic…Scott and Dave are OUTSTANDING hosts!

The location has beautiful views, the rooms and beds are quite comfortable, the breakfast is balanced and tasty, and the prices are affordable.

I can’t recommend staying here enough.

    Will be back soon!

  • A place to come back to again and again!

We’ve been coming to Frog Meadow yearly for over a decade. It is the sweetest B&B at which we’ve ever stayed.

Scott and Dave are truly gracious hosts. The rooms and every square inch of the public spaces are spotless and well appointed. The garden in beautifully maintained. There is so so much acreage to ramble around in. And Rock River is very near!

Newfane is very small, but very charming with great eateries. And Brattleboro is crazy picturesque with fun shops and some very fine restaurants. And this area of Vermont is simply gorgeous.

Frog Meadow is a place to come back to again and again!

  • After all the great things we’ve heard and read about Frog Meadow its nice to see for ourselves that it’s all true!

Frog Meadow gets a FIVE-STAR rating from us! You guys have put together a remarkable retreat and we are very appreciative to have experienced it. We look forward to our next trip there.

After all the great things we’ve heard and read about Frog Meadow its nice to see for ourselves that it’s all true. Southern Vermont has charmed us and we are actively searching for nearby property so we can live in such a progressive and beautiful part of the country.

Thanks for including us in your Spring Work Camp, we had a wonderful, productive and relaxing experience with you guys!

  • Family is what the place is about!

To me, the key to understanding any crowd of human beings is determining why they’re gathered in a particular place to interact. Why there? Why not somewhere else? Gay owned establishments exist, for the most part, because members of the LGBTQ Community need a specific place to gather where they won’t be judged and won’t be made to feel they’re wrong for the views or conversation they bring in front of the heteronormative majority in America. Although that trend is changing in the U.S., it still has a way to go.The Bed and Breakfast, Frog’s Meadow, is a gay male owned and operated business, small, quiet, and intimate. They offer naked yoga, massage, there is an outside wood fired hot tub, and numerous hiking trails in the area. Old stone walls of unknown age meander everywhere. The surrounding community in the city is very gay friendly, progressive, and there is a welcoming feeling to the place. The smell of the wood-fired hot tub and cool air this time of year smacks you in the face as you walk out the door. The B&B is meant as a getaway to relax. The stereotypical family “picture” isn’t meant to be on display at Frog Meadow, but family is what the place is about. The men go here to be themselves and bathe in their gender oriented family, for a short while, and enjoy the offerings of the Inn. Oh, and Dave’s breakfast cooking skills are to die for!Dave and Scott run the place, and you know you are welcome from the moment you walk in the door. The Inn is meticulously kept up, and stylish. You feel both as if you’re in Vermont, but also in a very safe space to relax. I can’t give them enough Kudos on the place. We will return in the future to be sure.

A recharging experience and very peaceful. Great local restaurants, and the staff is very knowledgeable about the area and events.

  • An Awesome Time!

I want to thank you both for an awesome time. I’m really happy that I made the trek up to your beautiful oasis this weekend.

Everything was great, Jay and Gill are awesome and thanks again Dave for the well-needed massage. It’s been about three years since my last massage.

Your guests are always so nice, too. I had a nice time chatting with Adam and Edward last night as well as the other guests Scott and Dave.

You know I will definitely be back again for my seventh stay. Perhaps with boyfriend number 4….perhaps it’s best by myself!

    Michael C. , Mystic, CT
  • Paradise Revisited

After a two-year pandemic hiatus, it was great to return to Frog Meadow Farm. Nothing had changed! The warm and inviting hospitality from Dave and Scott was not diminished by Covid-19. The landscaping was lush, and the flowers were in full bloom. It seemed even the bees and hummingbirds were put on notice to show up and extend a warm welcome.

As Scott so vocally proclaimed, I “assumed my usual position” outside by the table, reading my book, chilling with a glass of wine with my earbuds in place, soaking up the sun surrounded by a tranquil environment. While enjoying my sedentary position, the other guests had other plans to fill their afternoon. Whether touring the Green Mountain State and taking in the sights of the countryside or relaxing and making new friends at Rock River, everyone had their individual plan to make their time at FMF worthwhile and enjoyable.

Besides the various activities described above, I must admit the stimulating conversation around the breakfast table was a highlight of this visit. The diversity of the participants coupled with their interesting and witty stories was an invigorating way to start the day! As always, I highly recommend FMF for those wanting to get away from their humdrum existence. But take it from me a long-time visitor (this was my 11th stay), a four-day visit will fly by, and you will leave regretting you did not stay longer in paradise!

  • Simply the Best!

What a wonderful experience! My husband and I just had an incredible long weekend at Frog Meadow.

Scott and Dave are consummate hosts, and their support staff are all helpful and thorough. The other guests were friendly, and Frog Meadow just had a way of making everyone feel at home and relaxed. Dave’s massages were next level, and hot tub and outdoor shower were just awesome. Plus, every morning we were served a delicious breakfast made from local ingredients.

Do yourself a favor and go!

  • Enjoyed the Escape From Reality and Work Life!

I wanted to say thank you for your hospitality. I enjoyed the escape from reality and work life. It was a nice escape to be off the internet and real world.

  • Paradise!

We had an absolutely amazing time at Frog Meadow!

Dave and Scott are wonderful hosts and it was great getting to know the other guests, everyone was very friendly.

We stayed in the Carriage House Suite which was spacious with all the amenities you would ever need. It was great to float in the swimming pond, relax in the hot tub with the other guests, and explore the hiking trails around the B&B.

Breakfast was delicious, and the grounds were absolutely stunning with lush greenery and beautiful gardens.

We will definitely be coming back soon!!

  • A Great Getaway!

The perfect retreat away from your day-to-day grind!

This B&B is clean, well-organized, and has clear guidelines that really make your visit easy and stress-free. Stand-outs for me include:

    1) Great mesh WiFi throughout the living areas!

    2) Convivial breakfasts to meet other guests and plan your day

    3) The property is beautiful without being kitschy-cluttered. It’s comfortable, yet masculine and functional. They have struck the right balance.

    4) Substantial trail network on the property for some great walks “en plein air”

    5) Nearby are a great deli, fine casual dining, mountain hikes and rivers.

All well-documented by the hosts. Will definitely stay again!

    Kirk F., Arlington, WV
  • An Oasis in Paradise!

The Carriage House Suite at Frog Meadow Farm is not only an oasis — it’s truly a home away from home, only more luxurious than home.

Nestled among nature in the Vermont hills, Frog Meadow is perfect for a quiet, restorative stay or the base for amazing outdoor adventures – or both!

Dave and Scott are wonderfully welcoming hosts … and we’ve always enjoyed meeting the other guests while relaxing in the outdoor wood-fired hot tub.

Words can’t quite capture the magic of this place!

Frog Meadow is an early winter paradise!

Our whole stay was very relaxing, the house is extremely cozy with beautiful valley view. Dave, Scott and Jay, are incredible hosts, they provide the best suggestions about everything in the area, which makes you feel safe and local, their freshly made breakfast is also something that I have to mention, so good!

The old-fashioned hot tub is heated by wood fire, making the experience even more incredible.

  • Peaceful, Fun, Social and Picturesque

I have stayed at Frog Meadow a few times now during different seasons Each time has been wonderful.

Owners Scott and Dave have created a unique and perfect environment and have paid attention to every smallest detail. The accommodations are spotlessly clean, very comfortable and tastefully decorated with whimsy.

Frog Meadow is set in a beautiful part of southeast Vermont and is secluded from all the craziness of today’s life while still offering a perfect blend of modern amenities and natural comforts. The grounds are meticulously kept and it is so relaxing to soak in the wood-burning hot tub with humming birds hovering from flower to flower while appreciating the awesome landscape that surrounds.

Every time I have visited I have been part of a diverse group of men and enjoyed many great conversations at the breakfast table while enjoying the homemade gourmet food served daily. The evenings are also enjoyable with friendly conversation around the hot tub or by the fire pit.

Frog Meadow is a permanent destination on my travel list and I already look forward to my next visit!

    Lorcan M., Billerica, MA
  • Every gay man needs to have a Frog Meadow moment…worth every penny!

Frog Meadow was a paradise that I never knew I needed! Seriously, the glorious natural beauty: the flowers, the soft grass walkways, the mountain views, the trees, the fauna, the babbling brook by our cottage–it was nature therapy at its best!

My husband and I found so much wonder and joy being at Frog Meadow. Scott and Dave are wonderful hosts. The main house was pristine and that outdoor heated tub, and the outdoor shower!

We also really enjoyed the company of meeting other gay lodging guests. We had great conversations, enjoyed breakfasts together in the dining room, and made a few friends!

Every gay man needs to have a Frog Meadow moment…worth every penny!

    Enjoy!

  • Such a Super Place to Stay!

You fellas were terrific, top-notch hosts! The guests we chatted with were a lot of fun. We were fortunate to have nice weather and such a super place to stay!

I’ll speak with Charlie and see if we might hop up for another long weekend in 2022.

    Cheers and naked hugs-

    Ken L. & Charlie B., Washington, NJ
  • Priceless

Thank you from our every pore. What you men have created for our community is priceless.

You are giving so much more than receiving and that is so honorable…kudos!

You should be very proud of your efforts and contributions to the physical and mental health of our gay brothers.

    With love and sincere gratitude.

  • First time visiting…definitely not our last!

We stayed at Frog Meadows for 3 nights in the Frog Meadow Suite for my Husband’s birthday. While the location is ideal for relaxation, being remote means there is some limited dinner options on Mondays and Tuesdays, but the Fat Crow in Newfane and and Whetsone Station in Brattleboro were phenomenal options we enjoyed while visiting.

The location itself was everything I’d hoped for! The Suite was extremely comfortable and well maintained with all the amenities we needed. The breakfast every morning was something new and tasty. The owners and the staff were fabulous, making us feel right at home, immediately. No judgements, no agenda, no stress!

The grounds are beautifully kept and extremely serene. The hot tub is the crown jewel of relaxation, that and Dave’s massages! My husband is really picky about his massages, and he was very impressed by Dave’s strong hands.

While this may have been our first visit to the green mountains of Frog Meadow Farm, it will most certainly, not be our last!

  • Beautiful & Very Relaxing Three Days!

I want to thank you again for a beautiful and very relaxing three days. You have created a very magical place – the setting, the accommodations, the guests.

I am thrilled that you were able to survive the pandemic!

I probably won’t be back till next summer, but I am looking forward to it already!

    All my best,

    Jeff B., New York, NY
  • At Home with Friends

Vermont calls itself, and not without good reason, The Green Mountain State – there are many mountains and all of them are lush with color green. And in the middle of the green is Frog Meadow Farm. And the nickname “Oasis for Gay Men” is correct!

The Main House, which has three guest rooms, is surrounded by wonderful large gardens. There are two additional guest cottages in the gardens, but each far enough away from each other and from the Main House that you have the feeling of being alone in nature.

When you come to Frog Meadow Farm, you feel like you are coming home. The greeting from Scott, Dave or Jay is warm. The house exudes a pleasant coziness and tranquility, which is immediately transferred to everyone. It’s cozy without being plush. There is a lot to see but nothing is frivolous. Everything exudes a masculine calm that tells you: relax, breathe and be who you are. At breakfast at the large table, all guests sit together like at a family reunion, everyone talks to everyone and the food is very good and plentiful. Coffee and tea are available all day.

The central point of Frog Meadow is the wood-fired hot tub adjacent to the terrace. Everyone gathers here during the day, after trips in the area or the nearby Rock River Gay Beach, or after dinner in one of the surrounding restaurants. You chat, read or just look at the wonderful landscape! Everything relaxed and relaxed, like at home with good friends.

My husband, who has been here a few times previously and was very enthusiastic about it, wanted me to experience Frog Meadow Farm. And I have to say it was worth it. We will certainly not have been here for the last time and are already looking forward to the next time!

  • An Amazing Oasis in the Vermont Countryside!

Absolutely amazing! This is our third stay at Frog Meadow. Scott and Dave could not be better hosts and have worked to create a private oasis in the Vermont countryside.

The rooms and main areas are impeccably clean and well thought out. The other guests have been very friendly and contribute to the welcoming atmosphere.

Between the expert massages and the awesome breakfast, Frog Meadow is truly a get away destination.

Do yourself a favor and book a room at this relaxing Vermont resort!

    Daniel R. , Willington, CT
  • Back and as Fantastic as Ever!

So grateful my happy place is back and having us. It’s by far the most relaxing place we go to!

Excellent service, super-clean and drop-dead beautiful. The owners and staff are amazing, and communicate really well. It’s a don’t miss.

Hit up Echo in Brattleboro, it’s the bomb just like this place!

    Scott G. & Andy C., Ivoryton, CT
  • A Therapeutic Getaway!

Emerging from the COVID shut down left us wanting to get away somewhere that didn’t require a flight and passport. Frog Meadow was the retreat we hoped for and it also gave us more than we expected.

Dave, Scott, and Jay made us feel welcome and at home in this oasis they’ve created. Surrounded by lush forests and fields of wild flowers, we found it easy to leave our phones and finally unplug. The wood-fired hot tub is a must after a day of swimming and again before bed. The homemade breakfast is a perfect way to start the day.

When looking for dinner options, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from in either nearby Newfane center or a short drive to Brattleboro.

  • This is a Treat You Deserve….Don’t Hesitate!

This was our second visit to Frog Meadow. I say visit, because it was like getting together with friends you haven’t seen in a while.

Scott and Dave are wonderful hosts, with a talent for being there as much or as little as you need, and their home is an oasis from an often hectic world. Their decision to require guests be fully vaccinated was a wise one. It meant that interaction with them and the other guests was more relaxed than it otherwise would have been.

Their property is quiet, open, green, and flower-filled. Great breakfasts are how you start a day with as much or as little activity as you need. Exploring the quaint nearby towns, hiking in the woods, hanging out at the gay beach at Rock River.

There is truly something for everyone. This is a treat you deserve. Don’t hesitate!

  • We Could Not Ask For More!

My husband Clay and I have been going to Frog Meadow for almost a decade now. Summer is not summer without a stay.

Scott and Dave are wonderful hosts. Dave’s breakfasts are a treat every morning.

The rooms are immaculate. The setting idyllic. We could not ask for more.

And there are amazing restaurants so nearby. The farm-to-table movement flourishes here and makes for culinary treats.

I feel more relaxed here than anywhere else in America.

Nicholas S., Los Angeles, CA & New York, NY
  • A Nice Getaway!

We stayed in the Bee cabin and loved our stay.

We enjoyed our stay and all that the property had to offer.

Highly recommend a stay here for a nice getaway!

  • So good to be back at our favorite Inn!

We’ve been coming here for a decade and we’re so happy that they’re back after a pandemic hiatus!

Our first-ever trip to Vermont back in 2010 was specifically to visit Frog Meadow Farm. A friend was describing it to us and it sounded a lot like an American Ryokan for gay men: seasonal breakfasts, a wood-fired soaking tub, and outdoor shower, a swimming pond, a massage studio, miles of private hiking and cross-country skiing trails, orchards and honeybees, a big fireplace to sit in front of, and a beautiful hilltop setting very close to the legendary Rock River gay recreation area.

We’ve been to Frog Meadow in all four seasons. We come up here in summer to frolic in the river, in winter to snowshoe, in spring for the workshops, and in autumn to enjoy the spectacular leaves. As a gay man, there’s something powerful about having a place to go where I don’t have to have my guard up. Many of us have gotten so used to having it up we don’t even notice that it’s there until we get a chance to take it down and experience what that feels like.

Yes, the inn is clothing-optional. In practice that generally means that people are only nude in the tub, shower, or pond; or when an adventurous type goes for a nude hike on one of the private trails. One of my favorite things about Frog Meadow is that it perfectly walks the line between cozy/romantic and flirty/playful – you can have whatever kind of time you want to have there. There are guests of all ages and sizes, most visiting from Boston, Montreal, New York, or elsewhere in the Northeast.

Most importantly, you’ll never need to censor yourself, tone it down, or otherwise repackage yourself to make sure you don’t ruffle the feathers of fellow guests who might not approve of your “lifestyle” or who object to it being visible “in front of the children”.

    Brian K., New York, NY
  • Superb!

One of my most sacred places. A retreat for gay men. Beautiful house, beautiful landscape. Dave and Scott warm and friendly. The breakfast table is my favorite part—gay men from all over the world communing.

A required pilgrimage for gay men.

    James N., New York, NY
  • The Spirit of Freedom & Self-Expression

    Hi Dave & Scott-

We haven’t seen you at Frog Meadow for some time. We miss you both and the spirit of freedom and self expression you have so joyfully shared with us.

We look forward to again enjoying your company and Frog Meadow very soon when you reopen!

Warm regards and best wishes in the interim.

  • Thank you for the gift that Frog Meadow has brought to my life!

Like many people with the beginning of a new year this is the time of year I reflect on what was and the promises of what is to come. Frog Meadow continues to hold a special place in my heart. I am truly blessed to have a fabulous life that I continue to celebrate each and every day with gratitude for the gift that it is. The joy and gratitude I feel today didn’t happen in a vacuum, my celebration of today is the result of many days before them framing what became my life’s journey.
Over a hundred days and nights of my life’s journey have been spent with special people at this special place called Frog Meadow Farm. So many wonderful memories that are mine to keep. For everything there is a season, my seasons at Frog Meadow laid the foundation to help me create a life today that exceeds my wildest dreams. I have created a life that mirrors the joy I learned to experience at Frog Meadow. You all helped me realize no matter what our dreams we can turn those dreams into reality.
Anyway, I just want to express my sincere gratitude to you both, know you have been in my thoughts over the last year. As the new normal unfolds and your regular operations resume, I wish you every success in the future. I look forward to a return visit to Frog Meadow to raise a glass to thank you in person for the gift that the Frog Meadow experience has brought to my life.
    Happy New Year!

  • Such wonderful memories of that wonderful day!

We were married at Frog Meadow 10 years ago today! We have such wonderful memories of that wonderful day.

We had talked about returning this year but with everything going on it wasn’t in the cards. Hopefully we will be back in the not too distant future.

Your place is beautiful and you and Scott were great hosts! Thanks again for helping make our day so special.

    Best wishes and stay safe.

  • This is a place where you want to have Champagne at!

My husband and I were excited to stay at Frog Meadow! It was quiet, charming, and everyone was friendly. It’s perfect for couples and groups, even singles!

    A few tips:

    1. Get ready for breakfast because it’s really good.
    2. Plan dinner accordingly every night as many of the local places in the area require reservation.
    3. Also bring champagne…this is a place where you want to have champagne at!

  • Winter at Frog Meadow: Hygge!

I’ve just returned from the latest of several visits to Frog Meadow, but this was my first stay during the winter. I’m happy to report that it held up to my expectations in every way, although very different from summer visits, obviously.

The place is so warm and inviting – the Danish term “hygge” came to my mind often – that it defines cold winter comfort. The made-from-scratch food, the wood stove in the Great Room, the hot hub, the winter views. – all just, wow!

But best of all, Dave and Scott earn my highest points for hospitality, which says a lot coming from a southerner. I’m not kidding, guys…

  • Don’t hesitate to spend some time here!

We were celebrating our 14 years of being together, and we wanted to find something intimate but relaxing and not the frenetic pace of many gay meccas….we found it at Frog Meadow!

Meticulous attention to detail, sublime pristine rural setting and attentive hosts. Accommodations were spotless and well equipped, breakfast with homemade honey and jams, wood fired soaking tub and of course a first class massage to get the stress out.

Don’t hesitate to spend some time here!

  • Consistent excellence year over year!

I visit Frog Meadow at least twice a year. There is always lots to do in every season, both on the property and in the area around it. It is tranquil and relaxing, off the grid in total comfort.

Typically the other guests are laid back, friendly guys. Not a venue for the high maintenance. The food is always delicious. The rooms are spotless and comfortable.

The owners have operations down to a science, allowing them to run a full house smoothly and efficiently and with attention to detail.

    This place is a gem!

    Scott B., Toronto, CANADA
  • My sacred retreat from the world!

    Scot & Dave-

You all have become my sacred retreat from the world and are very special to me.

Looking SO forward to my next visit!

  • The Perfect Escape

This review is long overdue as I have now become a regular guest at Frog Meadow.

I will never forget the first time I arrived at the property and was instantly awestruck by the setting and view, I think I was even speechless, if only momentarily! Once you arrive you have at your disposal 63 acres of some of the most beautiful terrain Vermont can provide. It also has a sense of history as the property has been a farm for hundreds of years, including original stone work and landscaping near the house that is beautiful.

What I find most appealing is that this is not only a stylish bed and breakfast but this is Dave and Scott’s home that they are welcoming you into. I prefer that any day to something more formal or cookie cutter. As recent as the last year they have also brought on board a professional chef to help out so what was really great food for breakfast (plus lunch and dinner during thier Mens’s Workshops) before is now even better!

I have also had the opportunity to attend one of their workshops. I came away with a sense of community and having a new group of friends as a result. This brings up a something that I think makes Frog Meadow unique, the culture you become a part of as a guest. Every visit I come away with having met interesting, if not fascinating men that engage me and sometimes challenge how I think and look at the world.

I will be heading back to Frog Meadow in the early Spring and as always, know it will be something special!

  • My Home Away From Home

I have been visiting Frog Meadow Farm for more than a year now. I have driven down from the Toronto area to Frog Meadow several times during 2019 – the last visit in late October.

    What keeps me coming back?

The hospitality – the friendly attentive greetings and care taken by Jay, Scott and Dave make me feel at home as soon as I arrive; the beautiful home that Scott and Dave open up to their guests; the well appointed rooms; the beautiful gardens; the walking trails; the hot tub; the swimming pond…

All of this is in a peaceful, welcoming area of Vermont with a variety of things to do and see and some wonderful restaurants.

As well, I have met a variety of interesting guests, some of whom I have stayed in touch with over time.

Each visit has left me feeling rejuvenated and looking forward to my next visit!

  • A Loving & Welcoming Sanctuary for Men

Thank you very much for your warm hospitality and for making the cross-country ski weekend a wonderful experience! I appreciate how much thought and effort you have put in to make frog Meadow a loving and welcoming sanctuary. Also please thank Jay for me for his welcoming kindness. I look forward to seeing you all again!

    In friendship and love-

  • A place for our tribe to commune, to connect, to grow and knit together

I am still in the spell of my time up at Frog Meadow last weekend – more than a whole week has passed and I’m still feeling it.

I’m writing to say thank you.  A deep and profound thank you.

Though you may view Frog Meadow from one angle as an enterprise, you both fill the place with a spirit that makes it so much more than that, even much more than the loving home that it obviously is – it is a sanctuary.   A place for our tribe to commune, to connect, to grow and knit together.

I treasure the conversations I’ve had with the all gay men from around the globe that you’ve convened – around the breakfast table.  That is the most special ritual of them all there.  For me, anyway.

So, thanks.  Hope to be back again soon!

    Jim N., New York, NY
  • Restful, Beautiful & Full of New Experiences!

Thank you does not come close to expressing our joy & gratitude.

  • A Beautiful Place for Bay/Bi Men in the Vermont Countryside!

We had a lovely weekend at the Frog Meadow Farm bed and breakfast. The location is in Newfane Vermont, with the bed and breakfast located in the middle of nowhere up some hilly Vermont roads.

The place itself is extremely lovely and well taken care of with beautiful well-maintained gardens around the property. We loved our spacious suite room with a massive comfortable bed, huge bathroom with 2 person jetted tub and large walk in shower. The house itself feels very rustic/country but with modern amenities. Everything was spotlessly clean and in great condition. The wood fired hot tub was also amazing. It was perfect for a balmy September night and we socialized and drank beers with the other guests on our first night.

One of my favorite things was the smell of the hot tub’s wood stove coming into our windows at night when we were sleeping. The smell reminded me of camping with my parents as a kid, which sounds really silly, but it was really nice. Our other favorite part of our stay was just sitting outside on the reclining chairs by the pond, drinking local ciders and just relaxing and watching the nature around us. It was very peaceful and quiet and perfect for just chilling and reading a book.

Men of all ages and body types were at Frog Meadow, including single men and couples. Clothes are optional so you are gonna see some stuff. I didn’t feel pressured to be naked, and as a bigger guy, I didn’t get the vibe that there would be judgement either way.

The guests we met were very nice and the hosts and the staff members were all very friendly and welcoming. Newfane Vermont is also a cute little town and has several tasty places to eat nearby, with The Eatery being our favorite place for a nice date night out. There is also a little farm store nearby that carries a very interesting selection of Vermont craft beers and ciders. Keep in mind that Frog Meadow is the host’s home as well. While you can be as social or not as social with people as you want here, you’ll likely be conversing with the other guests and seeing the hosts living their lives. So just keep that in mind when you book here.

Coffee, tea and water is available at all times and the breakfasts were freshly prepared and very good. I also loved the high end shower and bathing products provided that are specifically made for Frog Meadow Farm. There are also a few different and creative lodging options for guests including rooms and a suite in the Main House and two little cottages a bit further away from the main house for the ultimate in privacy.

Frog Meadow was a classy, beautifully maintained, friendly, rustic and peaceful getaway with some creative lodging options for gay men and we would love to bring our friends with us next time we visit. If you’re looking to get away to the countryside for a relaxing little gay getaway, I highly recommend this place!

  • Awesome Stay!

Hey Guys — Just wanted to send a thank you for the awesome overnight stay. I loved the Frog Meadow! Thanks so much for making it available to enjoy. I’ve known about your place for awhile now but finally had a small last-minute opportunity to come see for myself, and am super glad I did.

The Bee Cottage was perfect. Nothing but the sounds of the insects and the birds, the flowers and fresh air on all four sides.

As a part time artist I definitely felt it was a place I could do work and hear myself. Loved it.

Hope to stay longer next time… and come more often!

    Thanks again. Cheers!

  • Finding the Magic!

After numerous visits to Frog Meadow Farm (FMF) I have wondered why I, like so many others, return to this retreat of peace and solitude, especially when there are so many alternatives afforded me throughout the United States and around the world. I was determined to find the reason for my obsession with FMF.

Maybe the secret can be surmised by the two guests who sought refuge at the resort during a workshop they attended that required extensive homework and concentration after their daily sessions. Although sightings of the two were few and far between, when they did appear usually to take a relaxing dip in the hot tub or at breakfast, one could not have found two more amicable men. In fact, one guest commented that after numerous visits to FMF, he had yet to encounter anyone disagreeable or unpleasant which says a lot about the magical affect of the place, the hosts and the ambience one will encounter upon arrival.

Perhaps, the answer for my obsession can be found by a younger guest who was enchanted by the peace and mystery that the night brought. The evening was complete with fireflies that complimented the illuminated starlit sky. His joy and exuberance sparked the curiosity of the other guests that evening and eventually we all joined him in his celebration of life. Once Dave fired up a campfire, we all experienced a similar excitement to the point that, out of the blue marshmallows appeared, and the joy of youth touched all assembled!

However for me, I have concluded that it’s the simple presence of the many frogs that create my obsession. It seems as I drive up Newfane Hill Road, their siren’s call commands my vehicle up the hill. Their dissonant croaking takes me through my day of relaxation and reading and at night their audile presence lulls me to sleep.

I guess everyone who visits FMF will find something special that will enhance their visit. Whether it’s the friendly encounters, the attentive hospitality, the peaceful surroundings, the meticulously prepared and delicious breakfast, the natural ambience of the scenery or just the frogs.

Whatever the reason, it will give them ample justification to return and find their own personal magic!

  • I look forward to this [my stay] for months!

Every year, I get so excited about going to visit. I relax, unwind and meet amazing people every time! I usually go solo just to get away and am pumped for weeks before arriving. The place is amazing with beautiful views, clean rooms and fantastic people.

I stayed in one of the rooms in the house this trip and I genuinely have never slept better in my life. Breakfast is great with their own private chef, you can relax and unwind and you also never know who you’ll meet. You get to socialize with others or keep to yourself and enjoy the beauty of southern Vermont.

This trip I also checked out local restaurants and was surprised how upscale they are and great the food was. The partner comes with me next time!

Thank you for always providing an amazing experience and making me feel like I’m home in the mountains. This retreat renews me and sends me home a better person than when I arrived!

  • Perfect Weekend in the Meadow!

Thinking back to our perfect weekend in the meadow and by the pond a week ago. Wish we were there now!

  • No place like it!

I’ve stayed at Frog Meadow twice now and I’ll be returning as often as my schedule allows (I travel from Virginia).

Simply put, there’s no place like it.

Not only have Scott and Dave built a perfectly designed oasis for gay guys, but they’ve created an inspiration for what thoughtful men of any sexuality can create with vision, attention to detail, and sincere care for others.

As many of us ask what we can meaningfully do in our lifetimes, it’s cool to appreciate their real achievement and relax in their perfect care.

One other thing: I’ve only run into guys there who smart, chill, and interesting (yeah, some of them pretty hot).

  • Wonderful retreat for men!

Dave and Scott have successfully created a space for men to relax. The Farm is quiet, with lovely outdoor spaces to sit, eat, read, view/swim in the pond, walk the trails, soak in the hot tub, etc.

We booked massages and we both agreed they were wonderful! The rooms are comfortable and tasteful and breakfast was varied and homemade – with a view to being healthful.

Both Dave and Scott were easy to talk to and available to help out with information about restaurants and activities (don’t miss the trek at Rock River, a wonderful gay beach nearby!).

The overall atmosphere is one of peace and tranquility, We hope to come back some day!

  • A Truly Outstanding Oasis!

Many thanks for another wonderful weekend at Frog Meadow.

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the “Celebrating Gay Manhood” Retreat Weekend. The accommodations were top notch, the food delicious and the service first class all the way.

Thanks also to Jay for his help and for explaining the history of Newfane and to Dan for a great massage!

Thank you again for a truly wonderful stay last week! It was everything I wanted and needed.

  • Magical 3 Days!

I travel a lot, both in the US and all over the world. When I plan a trip I look for accommodation well within the 4-5 star range, especially outside of the country or an area that might be tricky to navigate. When I heard about Frog Meadow, what appealed to me was the fact that it is a rustic, mountain / wooded retreat. And that’s what I wanted …. rustic relaxation. They offer some suites w/ private baths – and some rooms and cottages that have a shared bath (perfect if you are traveling with friends).

I chose what they call The Brook Cottage. Set away from the main house, next to a babbling brook, this magical little cabin features a queen bed, electricity with ceiling fan and air conditioning (I didn’t need it at the end of June – the property sits on top of a mountain and the entire cottage has screened windows that provide an amazing cross breeze).

Relaxing in this cottage surrounded by nature, is just transforming. I have not slept this good in months. Imagine the most comfy bed …. with great linen and blankets …. in an enchanted forest. I’m not kidding – it felt like that.

True, it does not have a bathroom. But I knew this and realized that I would be “Glamping” and that’s what this is!! The bathroom is located in the main house (which they show you during the tour when you arrive). It is spotlessly clean, and they offer big robes and lots of towels. This is a MENS retreat, so they jokingly suggest that in the night when you have to – just water the trees lol – otherwise the bathroom is there to use at all times. It worked out fine.

They have a wood fired hot tub … a swimming pond ….. patio to relax on and enjoy the evening. Also available is a beautiful great room / living room with cable tv if you want.

Then there is breakfast. Served in a large chefs kitchen / dining room combo and butlers pantry. Fresh fruits and granola and yogurt, fresh juice tea and coffee to start. They prepare a different hot breakfast every day featuring local ingredients. The food was awesome.

The hosts are a couple that built this property from scratch, and they love what they do. Attentive (but not bothersome). This is their home and they enjoy sharing it, and are so accommodating. ** I mentioned that I had spotty internet in the cottage…and they moved the routers right away to improve the signal etc (it worked great after that!). They could have easily shrugged and said it’s the woods – sorry….but they cared.

Frog Meadow is amazing and I can’t recommend it enough if you are looking for a quality, gay B&B. If you are looking for a fussy froo-froo boring hotel then go there. If you want rustic and comfortable glamping in a true Vermont paradise – then go to Frog Meadow!!

  • Magical and Amazing

A big thank you for hosting such a magical event [Spring Yoga/Wellness Weekend with Colby Smith] at your enchanting estate…I will cherish that weekend all my life.

    You were amazing hosts!

    Thank you!

  • Life-Changing Weekend

It [The Spring Yoga/Wellness Weekend with Colby Smith] was the best experience, yoga and meditation.

Colby Smith was amazing and Scott and Dave provided a first class experience, the food was a pure delight and the staff were first rate. I am most definitely going to return.

It was life changing for me!!

  • Look no further for a fantastic, relaxing time!

Stayed [at Frog Meadow] this past spring for the “Circus Spectacular” Weekend and had a great time!

Would recommend Frog Meadow to any gay couple or individual is looking for a fantastic relaxing time.

  • “The Gold Standard”

We have stayed at Frog Meadow on several occasions and Scott and Dave are the absolute best! They and their staff are welcoming and attentive without being obtrusive. Our cares melt away as soon as we arrive. It is truly a place to relax and recharge.

Frog Meadow has become the gold standard by which we measure every other B&B where we have stayed. There have been many and none have even come close in comparison to “the Frog.” We have come to appreciate the attention to detail at the Frog after staying at places that were dirty, in disrepair (the front door knob should not come off in your hand as it did at another B&B!) or had nosy and gossipy owners.

We would actually give Frog Meadow an entire galaxy of stars if we could. Scott and Dave have created a truly unique and special place. You owe it to yourself to experience it!

  • Relaxed, Beautiful and Inspiring!

Yoga, B&B’s, and being naked is just not my thing. The thought of being naked in front of other people is completely unnerving for me. Going [to the Winter Yoga Wellness Weekend at Frog Meadow] was a gift for my husband. However, it was an amazing experience!

Colby (our handsome yoga instructor) created a loving, open and accepting environment. I was at complete ease!

Dave and Scott have cultivated a relaxed and beautiful environment. They are kind hosts and are inspiring with the life they have built for themselves and the community.

I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks guys for a fantastic weekend!

Hope to make it back soon.

    Josh E., Brooklyn, NY
  • Dreamy, Wonderful and Fabu!

What a dreamy locale, and a dreamy team you both are.

It (the Desire-Ecstasy Bliss GAY-TANTRA Workshop) was a very wonderful weekend!

Thank you for your love and consideration to a vagabond group of fabu gay men!

  • A Welcoming and Memorable Oasis!

I wanted to send a thank you for a memorable stay at Frog Meadow.

Richard and I really enjoyed our days up there last week. Your place looks beautiful in the snow and we were lucky to have so many sunny days in which to enjoy it!

Thanks for making us feel so welcome, it is indeed an oasis!

  • A Mystical Rewarding Pursuit

Tony Bennett may have left his heart in San Francisco, but I have left mine in Frog Meadow – a hidden gem, nestled within the borders of the little town of Newfane, in Vermont.

I anxiously arrived to this Inn realizing that I had stumbled upon a magical microcosm, settled on 60-plus acres of hallowed grounds where the first spoken words of welcome spun a spiritual cocoon around me. And my anxiety was gone, immediately replaced by a gift of trust, protection and brotherly love.

The owners, Scott and Dave, have turned what was a rustic and left-behind tract of land, into what they term – an “Oasis” for men to come together and share in retreats, relaxation and revelations. For me, this is not an Oasis – it is a Mecca!

This simple concept along the lines of a bed and breakfast, became a beating heart, sounding out its call like a beacon of light to all men, who are at various points in their life- journeys. There is no pretentiousness like you may find at hotels, inns or other “businesses” – you are not a “number” here – You are in their home and treated like family and old friends – right from the get go.

I came to participate in a 3-day Massage Workshop/Retreat with 9 other men whom I had never met – and being the silent observer that I am, I was awed to see how easily everyone blended into the “family” scene – “down home hearty” meals were whipped up by Chef Dave –cooked and served right in front of us, while we waited at the tables; laughter and jokes filled the air as we made our way through to dessert – and then, like a good family, the guys just got up from their tables and immediately started to help clean up, bring out dishes and glassware, leftover foods – no one hesitating for fear of stepping on toes. No awkwardness – just every one simply “being”. By now, any walls or boundaries seemed to have vanished. This connectedness transcended the whole weekend, increasing moment by moment amongst us all.

Scott was the host – and like an MC – he was the one who kept time, kept people moving, kept up a running patter of chit chat on topics ranging from Newfane history to risqué innuendos, much to everyone’s delight. He worked the periphery of the event, actually being the glue and oil to keep everything together and running smoothly.

They are flanked by two other workers who deserve more than a mention – “Dr. Dave” and “Jay”- who embody the model of employees who LOVE their jobs. They did not have to say anything; it was very apparent – “Dr. Dave” took care of the guests with outside needs and helping with baggage, transportation, bringing guests to their rooms and all of this, with zeal and gusto. “Jay”, was everywhere, wearing many hats, behind the scenes, in the kitchen keeping the meal service going smoothly, keeping our rooms set up – making sure no one wanted for anything – all with an amazing smile on his face, whether he was looking at anyone or not. I had the privilege of some real quality time with both Dr. Dave and Jay to learn more about these hard-working and very personable guys and made connections that will hopefully last a long time.

Some of what one may think are routine, mundane amenities at your regular b & b’s or inns, here are SO unique – the wood-fired hot tub, the natural swimming pond, the grounds and trails – all to be enjoyed either in attire or freely without wearing a stitch! What freedom!! Scott and Dave have reversed a trend that has swayed the gay community – through this endeavor, they are bringing BACK the community – creating a sanctuary such as Frog Meadow where the community can enjoy a renaissance and will thrive – better than ever!

I hesitated to write this review, because I don’t want to end up not being able to get a reservation in the future. I suspect that waiting lines could become so long! – I selfishly want to keep this paradise and its existence all to myself – but – what this experience did for me was more than one can imagine. – It is something that I cannot keep hidden – but am compelled to share it with ‘brothers everywhere’ searching for this “community and its offerings” that I found here.

    “Oasis”?,
    “Mecca”? –
    No! Wait !!…….
    Stop the Pursuit !!
Frog Meadow is truly The Holy Grail !

  • Relax and Unwind

Spending a Winter weekend at a peaceful Vermont getaway, surrounded by trees, nature, and other like-minded men was one of the most amazing weekends I have ever experienced!

Dave and Scott go out of their way to ensure all guests are well attended to, comfortable and well fed.

    Five “EXTRA GOLD” Stars!!

  • Lovely, charming and wonderful – we will be back!

We loved our two-day stay at Frog Meadow and cannot thank Scott and Dave enough for all of the hospitality and extra touches to make our stay so special. We stayed in the Frog Meadow Suite with a private bath and let me just say that it was like heaven on earth!

We loved all of the details and the quality accommodations and design. The common areas and hot tub and trails are truly a joy. We even enjoyed walking around the streets for an hour or so at night and enjoy the fresh air and sunsets.

During your stay you will get a chance to meet other guests and socialize if you so choose. Everyone was very nice and pleasant — and although we did spend some time talking with the other guests, we also felt we had more than enough opportunities for private time and conversation.

Overall, I cannot recommend this experience enough, we will be back soon having already made return reservations before we left!

    David S., Philadelphia, PA
  • Great, Gracious and Friendly

I always forget to drop you guys a note to say thank you. Frog Meadow is such a nice place to hang-out…we love the hot tub, and the view and the countryside.

And, of course, you are great, gracious, and friendly hosts.

    Until next time!

  • Peaceful and Cozy Gay Bed & Breakfast

We visited Frog Meadow Farm in early October during our New England autumn vacation. We stayed in the Frog Meadow Suite which was spacious and comfortable. Scott and Dave really made us feel at home and were helpful in letting us know about things we could do nearby, meal options as well as walks we could take on their property.

The location is extremely peaceful and quiet and is perfect for relaxing. Star gazing from the hot tub on a clear night was especially nice. They are close to Brattleboro and a cheese shop, glassworks and distillery, all of which are interesting to visit. Dave also provided us with excellent massages which were welcome after having spent numerous hours driving in the car.

Would definitely recommend to others and would love to visit again!

    Christopher H., Houston, TX
  • Top Notch – I Agree!

I’ve stayed in a lot of gay B&Bs in many different countries and Frog Meadow is one of the best!

Dave and Scott are a great team that provide exceptional service and comfort. They confirmed our reservation by phone the day of our arrival and offered to make us restaurant reservations for that evening. This kind of customer service is so rare nowadays and so appreciated!

The property is well-maintained and beautiful. The perfect country getaway especially for gay men who are looking for a place to convene with ultra comfort. Breakfast was scrumptious!

Enough said, what are you waiting for? Book a room and go relax in a great place in Southern Vermont. It will do you a world of good!

  • Five Stars all the Way!

Best weekend I ever had by far…Wish I could have stayed the entire week!

Arrived Friday, Jay invited me in, helped me with my luggage then gave me a tour of this amazing property. The Main House is impeccable, rustic looking, comfortable, just perfection.

I met so many great guys there and made many friends. This was the best choice I have made in a long time, can’t wait to come back next year!

    5 stars all the way!

  • Perfect Early Fall Long Weekend!

My fiancé and I stayed 3 nights and 4 days at Frog Meadow for a Gay-Tantra workshop weekend. Our drive from Syracuse, NY was easy and exciting as we got to drive up the mountains to our accommodations. We were greeted in the driveway by a warm, smiling face (Jay) and he helped us park and get our luggage moved in. The setting was beautiful, lush gardens, beautiful well kept home, smoking wood fired hot tub, tree swing, swimming pond and majestic mountains in the backdrop. Scott, one of the extremely friendly owners, met us at the door, gave us the tour while his husband Dave filled the home with the great smell of dinner to come. We stayed in the largest/nicest room as we booked early, the Frog Meadow Suite. Comfortable king size bed, large closets, plenty of room for our belongings, mini fridge, large bathroom with a walk in-shower and 2-man jaccuzzi tub.

Our Gay-Tantra workshop with Armin Heining from Berlin, Germany was great! It was the perfect workshop to help my fiancé and I reconnect and grow deeper in our relationship. The other participants were friendly and had a wide range of ages. We connected with another couple quickly and really enjoyed our time with them during our workshop. The group exercises and meditations were helpful to connect with everyone and we had time for just my fiancé and I to connect as well. I’d highly recommend Armin’s workshops as he caters to couples and singles alike in a fun group environment.

The accommodations were great, very peaceful, beautiful and serene. The wood-fired hot tub was also great and a good way to relax from the day. The grounds are well kept with plenty of areas to explore: swimming pond, hiking trails, beehives, tree swing, hammock, etc. The meals were very, very good…Dave is the cook and Scott helps him in the kitchen. The other staff were helpful and friendly. All the food is locally sourced and prepared with love. We enjoyed amazing fresh salads, soups, fruit, yogurt, granola, salmon, chicken, turkey chili and the fresh bread and desserts were a highlight. I am on a Keto diet and the owners did everything they could to accommodate my special requests and I never felt like an inconvenience.

Upon checkout Scott helped us with some local items (honey, cheese, jam) we purchased from their shop. We gave both owners a hug goodbye and a promise to return. We highly recommend visiting!

  • The Gay Mecca of New England

I could easily expound on the merits of Frog Meadow Farm, however the fact that I have had the audacity to travel from Georgia ten consecutive years, says a lot about the charm, hospitality and amenities that one finds at this renown gay mecca in New England.

Scott and Dave are the ideal hosts, coupling the personable charisma of Rhett Butler with the saccharine charm of Scarlett O’Hara. (I will allow past and future guests to determine who’s who in that comparison.) However, from the numerous gay-operated B&Bs and hotels I have visited around the world, nothing compares to what you will find at Frog Meadow Farm. The hospitality has been consistent during my frequent visits and at the end of each, I can hardly wait to schedule my next trip.

So, for those who are looking for a gay resort with immeasurable allure, beauty and charm; take note, take heed and take the time to check out Frog Meadow Farm!

  • Beauty & Peace…it’s a Jewel

Thanks for another chance to recharge the battery and take in some beauty & peace.

I forgot to ask you to give Dave a hug for me when I was leaving.

I love that you created Frog Meadow, it’s a jewel!

  • Freeing Fabulous Getaway!

My husband and I absolutely loved Frog Meadow. We were welcomed with open arms a inviting smiles from Scott and Dave, and we immediately felt comfortable the moment we arrived. A great characteristic of this B&B since this was our first clothing optional vacation.

We stayed in the Frog Meadow Suite, only because we wanted a private bathroom. This bedroom was a good deal larger as well. All of our accommodations were fantastic…perfectly clean, with comfortable beds, a comfortable robe for both of us, which we only used for a little while. We stayed naked most of the time outdoors and just wore running shorts indoors!

Our breakfasts were fantastic as well: Fresh baked bread and muffins and great main courses as well. Our daily items were french toast with bacon, eggs and toast with bacon, eggs and fresh blueberry muffins, and waffles with fresh blueberries from their own garden!

Both of us had massages, also very good!

I really have nothing negative to say about this place!

They will definitely be getting another visit from us…we really want to try one of their Men’s Retreats/Workshops next year.

Thank you Scott and Dave for an amazing experience!

    Steven and Christian, Dallas, TX

  • Can’t Wait to Return!

I decided last minute to travel to VT for the weekend…I booked the Bee cottage and everything was quiet, clean and since there was a little walk [from the Main House to the Bee Cottage] they even provided me with a headlamp to make sure I was good.

The hosts were fantastic, covered everything you needed and created a warm and inviting environment.

The hot tub was great, the company fantastic and enjoyed the proximity to several hiking locations.

Can’t wait to return in the future!

    Alex H., Boston, MA
  • The epitome of beauty and relaxation!

I’ve visited a number of men-only, clothing-optional resorts, B&Bs and hotels in the US and Frog Meadow stands out as a shining star in so many ways:

There was zero attitude from any of the other guests. This comes from the hosts and in this case they fostered an all-inclusive, welcoming and informal atmosphere. Everyone was made to feel welcome no matter their reason for visiting, whether they were alone or coupled or whether they wanted social time or time to themselves.

The grounds are stunningly beautiful and the main house is well-appointed with loads of space but still cozy and relaxing. The bed was so comfy I didn’t want to leave and the attention to detail was superb – from luxurious toiletries to soft, cool linen and fluffy towels.

Breakfast was a real treat – delicious fresh food and the all-important high-quality coffee and juice. The honey and jam were so amazing we exceeded our luggage allowance travelling home because we bought so much of it.

I wasn’t very organised in the days leading to our visit and so hadn’t been in touch with Scott to arrange anything or get information until a few hours before we arrived. That didn’t matter – Scott sent all the information we needed really quickly, including options for dinner that night.

There is storage space for guest alcohol, food and drinks [in the hospitality cabana] and the wooden hot tub is perfection.

It felt like everything was geared to looking after us and we left feeling rejuvenated and like we had made wonderful new friends!

Scott E., Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

  • The kind of special you don’t define – or attempt to describe – but to experience!

To write that our stay was everything we needed it to be the understatement of the year!

Your place is the kind of special you don’t define – or attempt to describe – but to experience.

We shall share this rejuvenating experience again!

  • It is Indeed an Oasis!

Many thanks for our stay at Frog Meadow last week, Richard and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute we spent up there.

You create a very relaxed atmosphere for your guests and I know it must take a lot of work to make that appear so effortless. We both appreciate the freedom to be had with you and the other guests, it is indeed an oasis up there!

Our thanks also to the staff whose welcome upon our arrival was warm and friendly, they looked after us very well. What great assets they are!

All the best, until our next visit-

  • An Oasis From Daily Life!

We had a great time up in the hills of Vermont!

Dave and Scott, along with their crew have created an escape where guests truly can unwind and unplug from our busy lives. The made-to-order-breakfasts are great and a nice way to start the morning. Coffee on the patio, overlooking the mountain is peaceful and welcoming.

There are so many great things on the property mentioning them all would be difficult. From the hot tub and outdoor shower, to the butterflies and humming birds in the gardens, the gym, comfortable living room filled with books and couches, hiking trails and fire pits – everything combined creates an oasis from daily life!

If you plan correctly, you could really never leave the grounds for a whole weekend. We stayed in the Brook Cottage and loved it! Take a hike out to the secluded and romantic “Brokeback Cabin in the woods” for more amazing views of the Green Mountains and create a unique experience to remember.

One recommendation, if you go, bring some snacks for sharing in the late afternoon and create yourself a happy hour to socialize with the other guests!

Frog Meadow is truly a great summer getaway to relax!

    Brian & Greg, Pawtucket, RI

  • Perfection!

My favorite part of this B and B is the wood-fired hot tub.

Picture this: soaking in a hot tub, on a cold, snowy night, smelling the delicious wood smoke, looking at the stars and the moon and the mountains in the distance. ..perfection!

I would like to return in the summer or fall to check out the spring fed pond and the trails.

  • Beautiful, restful – and fun!

I just returned from an amazing weekend workshop at Frog Meadow! Scott and Dave have created a magical place. It was the perfect weekend to enjoy the gorgeous grounds and gardens in Spring.

I shared a room with another single man and we became “brothers” by the end of the weekend. It was a bright and beautiful space, very nicely appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the facilities modern and clean.

You cannot beat the hot tub and outdoor shower for turning the “morning routine” into an ecstatic experience! Hiking naked in the woods makes you feel one with nature and laying on the warm rock by the pond can take you back to your childhood.

    Michael M, Pittsburgh

  • Blown Away by Vermont’s Beauty

I thoroughly enjoyed the last few days at Frog Meadow.  You guys have been at it for so long that it is a science!

I met some nice friends – and appreciate the atmosphere you provide to encourage men sharing with other men.

I especially loved the Vermont environment with all the snow.  I was blown away with the vast beauty of the area!

Best to you both, and thanks, for a really good time!

  • Perfect Weekend!

We recently visited Frog Meadow for the first time, for our anniversary. Despite the mid November chill, we had a lovely time!

After easing into the weekend with incredible massages by Dave, we spent our visit hiking the trails on the property, relaxing in the hot tub, trading stories with the other guests over breakfast, and rediscovering the attractions of Brattleboro and Newfane.

We can’t wait to get back there in summer!

Ralph & Andrew, San Francisco, CA
  • A Very Special Place!

Thank you for a wonderful weekend. You both have a very special place here at Frog Meadow.

We loved being able to get away from the city, forget all our worries and just relax!

  • Sheer Bliss!

My partner and I were excited to find availability at Frog Meadow Farm in early August as we wanted to explore the area more. We love coming to the area in summer to enjoy the river, towns and great dining.

The owners and staff are fantastic and couldn’t be nicer and more welcoming. It was cool to meet a bunch of like-minded guys and just chat and get to know one another.

Spent some great time down by the pond, au naturale reading and enjoying the pond.

The hot tub is fantastic too and spent lots of time in there, especially at night looking up a the stars and moon, so amazing.

I highly recommend getting a massage, it was the best I’ve ever had and felt relaxed and loose.

Stay here- can’t wait to return!

  • “A Work of Art”

Nine consecutive years travelling from Georgia to Frog Meadow Farm is a testament of the hospitality, camaraderie and pure natural ambiance that one will experience at this men’s retreat in Newfane, Vermont!

As I sat around the breakfast table with all the other guests during my recent visit, I whimsically thought about how Norman Rockwell might visually depict this gathering of like-minded souls participating in the great American tradition of eating breakfast . I am sure his brush would have focused on Dave as he carefully arranged the fresh fruit and yogurt in the butler’s pantry while mentally developing his strategy for feeding this group of hungry men.

His eye would have focused on those guests who gathered around the table. Some weary-eyed attempting to revive themselves with their first cup of freshly brewed coffee. He could hardly ignore those late stragglers slowly approaching the table after an evening of animated conversation and late-night shenanigans while soaking up the soothing warmth of the hot tub on a clear starlit evening. Somehow, he would picture Dave preparing each individual plate with the care and attention of the ideal host. And later capture the dichotomous images of Scott’s shirtless masculinity as he delicately positions piping hot plates in front of each awaiting guest. Without a doubt, Rockwell would have highlighted the multi-racial, multi-generational, and culturally diverse makeup of the men assembled.

The visual depiction of the guests being aroused by the savory aroma of bacon or sausage would surely be conveyed on canvas. Each eating hungrily as they made mental images of their plans for the day. Whether navigating the Vermont countryside; going to the nearby town of Brattleboro to window shop, in search of the perfect gift for a friend; or just relaxing by the hot tub and passing the day reading a book and taking in the beautifully landscaped vista of Frog Meadow.

Rockwell was renowned for his portrayal of ordinary people in everyday situations and his ability for capturing the visual narrative of the American experience. Previous guests have described Frog Meadow Farm as the “gay oasis of the northeast.” Others have praised it as being the “ultimate men’s retreat in Vermont.” But for me, plain and simple, Frog Meadow Farm is a “masterpiece!!!”

    Stan the Man, Griffin, GA
  • Southern Vermont at its best!

I could write a whole list of what is great about this place, but I rather just say this:

Get in your car, go there, relax, make new friends, soak in the wonderful atmosphere they have created and laugh and giggle with Scott and Dave!

Two excellent hosts. They know how to to this, and they do it very, very well.

    Duncan K., Jamesport, NY
  • Retreat From the World!

I attended a 3-day spring Yoga & Wellness Retreat Weekend at Frog Meadow and felt so well taken care of at this comfortable mountaintop inn.

It was too drizzly and cool to enjoy a swim in the natural pond, but the wood-fired hot tub, the generous hospitality of the hosts to make sure hot and cold beverages were always available, home-baked breakfast goods and sweet treats made me feel cared for!

And there were so many comfortable spaces to relax in alone or socialize with the group!

Easy drive to nearby Newfane Village or Brattleboro for great dining options and local sightseeing…but it’s also easy to spend all your time neatly tucked away into this Vermont hideaway!

Would love to come back for another getaway treat!

    Ray Q., Pasadena, CA
  • “Beyond Expectations”

When I pulled onto the property after close to a three hour drive I was overwhelmed by the beauty of my surroundings…whether it was the architecture, the 200+ year old stone walls, the formal gardens, or that fabulous view… it took my breath away. I have to apologize to Scott (one of the proprietors) at some point as I heard little or nothing of his most thorough tour as I was constantly distracted by the beauty and the setting I was now in!

I had reserved the Brookside Cottage, what a perfect getaway even for someone like myself who stands 6’3″…the micro-house was most comfortable and inviting! Carefully placed next to a natural spring-fed brook with windows on four sides, you felt immersed in the sound and fauna of the forest.

The attention to detail and customer service at Frog Meadow is excellent as well…for example my first night I had found a fire pit in an area adjacent to the main house and gardens. A chilly night was expected and I inquired as to the pit and shared my love of fires. The next thing I knew, a fire had been started and for the next three hours I kept warm by the fire and watched the sun set over the Vermont mountains!

The care and thoughtfulness put into the property for the last 20 years shows – and the concern for the environment as it impacts the property as well as the comfort of the guests is a top priority.

Thanks again Dave and Scott for a wonderful experience, I will be back, maybe this time for one of your yoga retreats to work on my flexibility!

Bruce P., Boston & Truro, MA
  • A Very Special Place!

Thanks so much for your hospitality. I’m so glad we decided to celebrate our anniversary by visiting Frog Meadow!

We really enjoyed your home, the company and camaraderie.

I especially appreciate your putting extra effort into accommodating my [gluten-free] dietary restrictions.

As you’ve undoubted heard before, you’ve created a very special place.

I hope we are able to return from time to time!

  • Where guests are treated as family

We recently finished a wonderful week at Frog Meadow in Vermont. Overall it was a fantastic trip!

The facilities are attractively done in great taste, it is immaculately clean, and the owners, Dave and Scott, treat you like family from the moment you check in until you leave. And they serve a wicked good breakfast (as we say here in New England)!

Our *huge* room was fantastic: plenty of closet space, thoughtfully designed bathroom, and a bed worth stealing for your own home. I can’t say a thing about either the heating or air conditioning as neither were necessary during an August visit!

And we can repeat prior reviews about the views, the many outdoor places to go on-property as well as off, and the great restaurants and shopping, or just kicking back and relaxing on the beautiful grounds.

We had a great visit and look forward to returning soon!

  • “Relaxed and renewed at Frog Meadow Farm”

This is my second visit to Frog Meadow. I attended a yoga retreat in February (led by the amazing Colby Smith.) I loved Frog Meadow so much, that I wanted to share it with my husband, so we headed up to the mountain for a few days. (From NYC’s Upper West Side, 3.5 hours.) We received a big, warm welcome from Scott and Dave and staff. It was like homecoming with friends!

First off, the house and property are beautiful and impeccably maintained. The house is incredibly warm, inviting, masculine, but not without a sense of humor. The rooms are beautiful, substantial, comfortable and very clean. The accommodations are so cozy and restful that afternoon nap in your, room, the living room in the hammock or outside by the hot tub should be required.

Speaking of the hot tub, the wood burning hot tub, is a unique and relaxing way to take in the amazing views of property and get to know your fellow guests. Lots of laughs, and good times with guys from all over. So relaxing!

Speaking of relaxing, do not miss the opportunity to spend time on Dave’s massage table. He is a master of his craft. He is skilled, intuitive, strong and gentle. You will leave the massage studio relaxed and refreshed…and ready for that nap!

Speaking of Dave, he makes a mean Vermont country breakfast. Everything is fresh, delicious and substantial. The breakfast table is covered with great food and the room is filled with talk and laughter as all the guys share war stories from their lives or their adventures in the neighboring towns.

Speaking of towns, Frog Meadow Farm is right outside of Brattleboro. We had great meals, did some shopping, some sight seeing and really got to enjoy the vibe of this pretty cool and funky town. Frog Meadow is very close to the Rock River gay beach as well.

I was sold on Frog Meadow after the Yoga retreat last February (and will be attending again in February 2018.) When we were driving away my husband said “It far exceeded my expectations and my expectations were pretty high.” Mine too!

  • A Cultivated Environment of Healthy Masculinity

We SO enjoyed staying with you all last week. The chill environment was so relaxing and terrific. I’ve been talking you up around here a lot…some of our more discerning and open-minded friends would really enjoy a stay at Frog Meadow!

I have to praise the environment of healthy masculinity which you have cultivated…it’s in the Walt Whitman sense, not in a oppressive leather-y sense, with the playful art, the casual use of both erotica and non-erotica for reading material, and the sense of space really adding to the sense of freedom and comradeship.

We’re looking forward to returning soon!

    Jamie & Brian, Detroit, MI
  • Awesome Experience

I just wanted to reiterate again how much I enjoyed the weekend with you at Frog Meadow.

It was an awesome experience from the moment we arrived!

Thank you again for making it a time I will always remember.

    Big hug!

  • Well Taken Care Of!

    Dear Scott & Dave-

I very much enjoyed my first visit to Frog Meadow!

You are both terrific hosts and made the Yoga/Wellness retreat with Yogis Colby and Derek a great experience.

I learned a lot, felt challenged by the practice, but also felt taken care of and warmly welcomed by you and your whole staff!

I look forward to a return visit in the future. Thank you!

    Ray Q., Pasadena, CA
  • A Perfect Oasis!

Thank you for another wonderful stay at your place…I’d say “Oasis” is a well chosen description of Frog Meadow Farm!

Richard and I both enjoyed relaxing outdoors and in…plus, those  lounge chairs by the pond are great for cloud watching!

    Until next time, Gents 🙂

    James, Northampton, MA
  • A Beautiful Stay…

Thank you very much for a beautiful stay.

We really enjoyed our time at Frog Meadow…everything looked and was great!

    Josh & Aaron, Dayton, OH
  • “A bonafide retreat…”

It is difficult to add more to the already excellent reviews…Beautiful drive into the country from Boston…Comfortable accommodations on exceptional grounds….Home-cooked meals do not do them justice — excellent food! Hosts Scott and Dave were welcome and present but not intrusive.

I did not think that I was a hot tub person (whatever that means) but I was so wrong! Great places throughout the property for conversation. Amazing massage retreat with Adam Brown!

    I will definitely return!

    Ken H., Vancouver BC Canada
  • Heaven!

Let me just say that Edward and I were in heaven while at Frog Meadow.  We enjoyed every minute of it.  Adam [Brown, the Massage Retreat Facilitator] was a breath of fresh air and even though the sun played hide and seek, the company of the men at the retreat shined brighter than the sun could have.

Please give my warmest regards to Dave who provided us with fabulous gourmet meals that were “to die for”!

We know that we will return to Frog Meadow some day soon.  When – we do not yet know – but I would love to relive this weekend many, many times over!

I totally enjoyed my experience at Fall Work Camp and the warm and comfortable atmosphere at Frog Meadow. It was just perfect!

Both of you are great hosts!

    All the best!

  • A Wonderful “Heart-Centered Touch” Massage Retreat Weekend!

A big heartfelt thank you to you both and the rest of the staff as well for the whole wonderful “Heart-Centered Touch” Massage Retreat Weekend!

The warm heartfelt welcome, the fabulous food, the concern for our comfort and concern for the environment were evident at all times throughout the retreat.

I hope to return to Frog Meadow this summer, hopefully for the Tantra Workshop in June!

    Charles H., Mountain Lake, MN
  • “What a fantastic stay!”

What a fantastic stay at Frog Meadow! Stayed here for a few days in October to take in the beautiful colors of Vermont in the Fall. The accommodations were superb and very comfortable, the grounds and gardens picturesque and just far enough from town to make you feel like you have escaped the hustle and bustle (although the Village of Newfane is just a few minutes down the road if you need to get supplies).

The hosts were great, and they prepared a very decent, varied breakfast every morning. Having lived in the area for a long time, they were very helpful in pointing out where to go and what to do in the area. They really made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. In addition, they went above and beyond to return my credit card which I inadvertently left at the property when I checked out, and went to an enormous amount of effort to re-unite me with my card as I was visiting from overseas and only had a short time to get the card back. My sincere thanks again for their kindness!

I would really highly recommend this place if you need to get a bit of peace and quiet, enjoy the beautiful Vermont countryside and get pampered in the process too!

    James D., Wellington, New Zealand
  • “A Warm and Cozy Place”

Scott and Dave provide a welcoming and homey place for gay men to enjoy the company of others in a quaint yet beautiful inn in the mountains of southern Vermont.

Their hospitality and friendly atmosphere provide the perfect backdrop for the GAY-TANTRA Retreat I attended.

Dave’s cooking provided a healthy assortment of the freshest farm-grown ingredients which only added to the nice experience!

The inn is well kept and the other guys were friendly.

A nice experience was had by all who attended!

    Barry S., Boston, MA

  • “Cute Place, Great Guys, Beautiful Setting”

Cute place, great guys, beautiful setting!

Natural lap pool in the [freshwater spring fed] pond…great hot tub, gardens are well done and well maintained.

Sat in the hot tub in the moonlight in at 2am…just gorgeous and serene! My massage was great!

Decor is simply done with a few gay whimsical twists…Great Breakfast! They accommodated my vegan needs, other foods were well received by other friendly guests.

There are lots of little areas to sit and write or chillout, as well as social areas to connect with others.

Nice gym with free weights, yoga mats and such, too.

Wish I could stay longer, I will certainly be back!

  • “The most powerful, fulfilling and life changing experience”

This [The “Brothers in Spirit” Summer Men’s Gathering] was by far the most powerful, fulfilling and life changing experience I have ever had!

I made new friends, let go of a lot of my past, and learned that I can and should be important to myself.

Do this and I swear you will never regret it!

    Jon M, Southbridge, MA
  • “There’s Something About Frog Meadow Farm!!”

Even though I comfortably reside in a bucolic and lush setting in Georgia, whenever summer rolls around I look forward to my annual retreat to Newfane, Vermont and Frog Meadow Farm. Dave and Scott are now accustomed to my easygoing, laid-back existence when I arrive at their well-appointed, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing Bed & Breakfast.

The setting is peaceful and I just go with the flow of the tranquility of my surroundings. The breakfast is nutritious, filling and “tickles the tummy.” It has a way of tying me over throughout the day until I decide where I will go for dinner, an easy decision to make since the hosts are fully acquainted with the culinary scene in the area and can recommend a restaurant to suit their clients’ varied tastes. Many of the men who I have met at Frog  Meadow are repeat guests and if they’re not, they easily adjust to the state of tranquility and community that naturally develops once one sets foot on the well-manicured grounds.

The accommodations, the natural setting and the hospitality of the innkeepers, Scott and Dave have brought me back to Frog Meadow Farm for the last seven years. Yes, there is something about Frog Meadow Farm, and I suspect I will make my annual pilgrimage to this lovely abode for many years to come!

  • Your Kindness is Un-Frog-ettable!

  • “Exceptional Vermont Hospitality”

While traveling in New England, we discovered a wonderful guesthouse in southern Vermont, Frog Meadow Farm, offering exceptional hospitality and a relaxing environment on beautiful grounds that should not be missed!

Our hosts, Scott and Dave, were like family, extending themselves to make certain that our visit was not only comfortable but offering suggestions to enjoy local restaurants, day trips and events in the Brattleboro area.

One can easily spend days just relaxing on the beautiful, well maintained grounds enjoying the hiking trails, hot tub, and an opportunity to make new friends.

An experience and hospitality not to be missed, we highly recommend a visit anytime of the year!

    Bob F., Arlington, VA
  • “Wonderful honeymoon spot”

I had been to Frog Meadow before, but my husband had not. We had a wonderful honeymoon, met lots of new friends, and were treated royally by Scott and Dave.

Dave’s massages put us at ease on our first day.

I highly recommend you add a massage to your stay!

Paul & Jonathan, East Hartford, Connecticut
  • Deeply Satisfied & Spiritually Renewed

My sincerest thanks and appreciation for this amazing experience [the “Brothers in Spirit” Summer Men’s Gathering]! I leave here a deeply satisfied and spiritually renewed man. Your generosity, hospitality and kindness made this retreat an incredibly profound and moving time.

Words may never describe my true feelings and my gratitude is endless.

I look forward to another stay soon!

  • Top notch even if only for a night!

I was in Vermont on business and decided to stay a night and head out the next day.

WHAT A MISTAKE! I SHOULD HAVE STAYED A WEEK!

These guys are on top of their game. The presentation of every detail was elegant and well thought out.

Hats off boys….we will be back!

    Anthony V., Rochester, New York
  • Do not miss out on staying here..you deserve this!

Prior to attending an upcoming 4-day men’s retreat, I booked a 2-night stay at Frog Meadow to just get away.

I can honestly say it was so indescribably better than I anticipated. From the first minute to the last, I was completely relaxed, comfortable, and felt like I belonged there.

The grounds are immaculate, the views sweeping, and the offerings aim to please everyone. Between the wood fired hot tub, the (luxurious) outdoor shower, the easy and welcoming atmosphere, and the very gracious hosts, you will not be disappointed at all. Each morning started with hot coffee, Dave’s delicious breakfast, and ended with a restful sleep in a clean, comfortable room. (I stayed in the Brook Cottage…highly recommended as a quiet escape during your stay)

Every little detail has been thought of, and everything about Frog Meadow stands to provide the best, most relaxing experience it can to everyone. Do not miss out on staying here. You deserve this.

    Jonathan M., Southbridge, MA
  • A Piece of Heaven

This place is so beautiful…we were here for four nights and celebrated my husband’s birthday and our tenth wedding anniversary too. The house, the grounds and in fact the whole area are beautiful. I can honestly say we have fallen in love with Vermont!

The lovely hosts Scott & Dave made us feel very welcome and the breakfasts by Dave were absolutely delicious. Although the weather was seasonally cooler than normal it didn’t stop up from enjoying our visit.

The local restaurants are simply great and our favourite was the Williamsville Eatery…gracious and friendly hosts and tremendous food and decor. The Artisan Restaurant at the Four Columns was also a great restaurant.

We were very sad to leave this little piece of heaven but we will be back!

Neil & Paul, Redruth, United Kingdom
  • Express Chill-Out

  • “Oasis in Vermont”

My husband and I stayed at Frog Meadow over Memorial Day weekend and were so lucky to have had the experience. The owners, Scott and Dave, were warm, friendly and gracious. They made us feel like their home was ours.

The property is stunning. Gardens, pond, trails, flowers, view of the mountains!!!! All amazing, The hot tub can be enjoyed day and night.

The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was perfect!

We have fallen in love with Frog Meadow and it’s owners! We will be back for sure!

  • A gem in the world of B & B travel!

From the welcome by Scott & Dave to the ultra-comfortable beds and rooms, Frog Meadow is a gem in the world of B & B travel.

The breakfasts are sumptuous and Dave uses all fresh ingredients to make his bread, muffins and meals totally from scratch.

Relaxed, congenial and with grounds that have beautiful, secluded hiking trails, a pond and a stellar wood-fired hot tub….

    Adam G., New York, NY
  • Welcoming, classy solid hospitality!

Fastidious attention to detail and cleanliness, welcoming, classy solid hospitality amidst glorious fields, hills, gardens.

The hosts are the very best at what they do!

Activities, comfort and adventure…my highest rating and I’ve been all over!!!

  • A special weekend I will not soon forget!

Having stayed at Frog Meadow before decided to register for special weekend with a 2-days “Heart-Centered Touch” massage workshop lead by Adam Brown.

In addition to learning all sorts of new massage skills, Adam spends time teaching about Taoism and other centering practices that were really helpful for me.

Definitely a soul-building workshop bonding with other men that was tremendous. It helped all of us be better people, more attentive partners, and refine the art of touch.

Frog Meadow’s amenities and gourmet meals provided by Chef Dave made it truly a special weekend I will not soon forget!

    Marc M., Middleton, MA
  • Great B&B for gay male travelers

I have stayed at Frog Meadow twice and each time was a great experience!

The rooms, common areas and grounds were spotless. Fresh breakfast in the mornings. The wood fired hot tub was relaxing at night.

Nearby Newfane and Brattleboro offer good food options. Plus Brattleboro has shops, bars and entertainment!

  • A Relaxing, Peaceful and Enjoyable Respite

Having returned home to NYC after three days at Frog Meadow, getting back into my “work groove” was a bit difficult…I attribute that to having a very relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable respite at your lovely place.

Thank you for your warm attention and hospitality.

As I thought, your place in particular and Vermont in general are beautiful.

Looking forward to a return visit soon!

    Jim M., New York, NY
  • A Relaxing Weekend!

This is just what we were looking for after the holidays….rest and relaxation!

The property is beautiful even in the winter, the views are incredible. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

Met a great group of guys up there as well, lots of laughs .

Looking forward to returning in the summertime!

  • Way Beyond My Expectations!

I really appreciate all that I learned this weekend (at the Integrative Breathwork Retreat)…I wish it could have been a few days longer!

Thank you for the care and love that you shared with me.

This weekend affected me so positively beyond my expectations.

Can’t wait to see you again!

    Tracy S., Corinth, MS
  • A life-Changing Retreat!

I just completed the “Heart Centered Touch” workshop at Frog Meadow. The retreat was body and mind work with a group of 12 men. The group was diverse in many ways (ages 43-75+, marital status, body type, political leanings, geography, income, occupation), yet connected through the activities of the workshop.

For me, the retreat was life changing! I would highly recommend Heart Centered Touch workshop by Adam Brown for anyone interested in exploring body work, mindfulness, and intimate physical and emotional connection with other men!

For those not comfortable with such activities, Frog Meadow is a wonderful place to be just and to relax…I was also a guest here for 4 days last summer. The setting is beautiful and serene, The food prepared by Dave is exceptional. The rooms are well appointed. The views are wonderful, the hot tub is inviting, other guests have always been friendly…and Scott and Dave are the best hosts I’ve ever had at any B&B. Dave provides a wonderful massage for those who want one. Again, a strong recommendation to experience Dave’s hands. You will not be disappointed!

I have signed up to return for two more Heart Centered Touch workshops here next year. Although aspects of my experience are always with me and I do think I am a changed man for having attended the workshop, I wish I could bring the total experience into my everyday life. The freedom and openness of the men was exceptional!

  • “A Rare Opportunity to Totally Unplug from the Rest of the World”

    Dear Scott & Dave-

Bruce and I had a wonderful time last weekend at Frog Meadow. We did not know what to expect from our first visit to a B&B – and we were delighted! Your home is welcoming and warm, your grounds and “back 40” are pastoral and calming. Maybe next time we’ll get out to see the Brokeback Cabin!

Thank you for making us feel so welcomed. While we both travel a fair amount, it is rare that we have the opportunity to “unplug” from the rest of the world the way we did with you.

Until we meet again, Bruce joins me in sending our warmest regards.

    Jeff & Bruce, Lakewood, OH
  • “An Exceptional Place!”

We decided to spend a few days at Frog Meadow to rest, and we were not disappointed!

Scott and Dave welcomed us with professionalism at all times, but also with warmth and generosity. The rooms are spotlessly clean. We shared the bathroom, but that was no problem – we took most of our showers in the garden’s hot-and-cold outdoor shower!

A true happiness! The place was a tad more nudist than we thought, which was not displeasing to us at all…the atmosphere is very relaxed.

Breakfast is outstanding and plentiful. Dave is an outstanding cook and offered a new menu each day: pancakes, French toast, waffles, omelets…if the idea of a breakfast other than the traditional bread-butter-jam ails you, do know! As a bonus, hummingbirds sometimes came to greet us at breakfast time.

The European guests and American guests who were staying with us at the time did not understand quite why we rejoiced as we did, as we were a little worried regarding other meals, since the nearest village is 15 minutes away and the town of Brattleboro half an hour away. In fact, it was no problem! There is a good take-out restaurant in Newfane (incredible for such a small town!) And a farm stand that offers very good fresh local produce. One can easily whip up a nice meal there which is then eaten on the terrace…or one can also purchase enough things for a picnic.

The nearby small town of Brattleboro is quite surprising for the United States, with a downtown “to the European” where there are several very good restaurants. On the way, the local distillery and the cheese factory are definitley worth visiting. Vermont is a state where we know good cheer!

One tip – ask Scott to show you “the big lake on the other side of the hill” (which surely must have a name, but we forgot). Aside from Frog Meadow’s own swimming pond, this is also a beautiful place to swim a few minutes from Frog Meadow!

  • “The Best Part of Gay Vermont”

Frog Meadow was a place I’d heard about by one of our friends who has been several times.

We got a group of our friends all together and decided to take a road trip to see what it was all about.

The property is stunningly beautiful and I would imagine it would take on a whole different kind of beauty at different times of the year

I think most in our group would agree one of the best amenities was the wood fired hot tub after a long day.

Each morning the owners, Dave and Scott would make breakfast for everyone and this was no bagels and cereal! Every morning it was something different and everything was freshly prepared and outstanding.

suspect we will be back several more times to Frog Meadow.

    Absolutely a five star review!

David C., Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA
  • “Beautiful, relaxing stay”

Thanks for the beautiful scenery, relaxation, adventure, and hospitality…Frog Meadow is definitely on the list of returns in the near future!

The drive, Four Columns Restaurant, Rock River, the pond and seclusion were all totally awesome!

We met some great guys in a short two days!

    Highly recommended.

  • There’s No Place Like Frog Meadow, There’s No Place Like Frog Meadow!

Thank you so much for – again – helping to make a beautiful weekend for us!

From the gorgeous and relaxed setting to the “Summer’s End” White Party/BBQ you invited us to, to the great recommendations for dinner, great breakfasts and just good old-fashioned hospitality, we really appreciate and love being at Frog Meadow and hope to be back again soon!

To us, “There’s No Place Like Frog Meadow, There’s No Place Like Frog Meadow!”

  • More than a B&B for men…an excellent resort!

This is a great Bed & Breakfast for men located in Southern Vermont in Newfane…just North of Brattleboro, VT.

Frog Meadow Farm is in a very quiet, peaceful and very relaxing environment…and off the beaten path! On a large parcel of wooden land and open fields with an out door wood burning hot tub and pond. The property is very well kept and maintained.

The owners, Scott and Dave take great pride in their facility, they raise their own fruits, herbs and some vegetables and keep bees. The breakfasts are outstanding, very delicious and very appealing to your palate.

Frog Meadow has a main house and two other free-standing units. ALL ARE KEPT BEAUTIFULLY. I stayed in the South Room in the Main House; very clean and airy with a king size bed.

Scott & Dave are very knowledgeable about the area restaurants and the Vermont communities. The massage services provided were excellent and I rate the two hosts with a triple AAA rating.

    Rich C., Rockaway, NJ
  • Ideal Getaway

Once we arrived at Frog Meadow we felt our stress and anxiety start to fade away. An absolutely gorgeous Bed and Breakfast set in 63 acres of Vermont’s finest!

Even before we checked in, the hosts made sure we had directions and arranged for arrival time. We pulled in, were met by the owners who showed us through the facility and grounds. When people love their work, it shows. Dave and Scott’s love for their home and grounds is apparent. Gorgeous grounds, a simmering wood fired hot tub, flowers, humming birds and patio we never wanted to leave. Our room was more than spacious, clean and our bathroom was state-of-the-art.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with other guests each night, shared our days experience and had many laughs. It was like a gathering of friends you never knew you had. Each morning we’d gather for breakfast and continue our conversations and laughter. The hosts provided great ideas for attractions and dining and were willing to assist any way they could.

We weren’t even ten miles away before my husband asked when can we return? We didn’t leave there feeling like nobody, we felt like family. Frog Meadow is a great place to begin! Thank you!

  • Highly Recommended and Very Unique!

Frog Meadow has become a regular part of our summer now. We have stayed for the weekend many times over the years as a couple, and one of us has also gone for a short writing retreat for a few days in the off-season. It is an inspiring, beautiful place and keeps getting better every summer.

Dave and Scott are warm hosts who are excellent at “reading” their guests’ appetite for company or discretion. They are un-fussy, laid-back, outdoorsy, sincere, relaxed hosts. So it’s easy as a guest to relax there, and it feels a million miles from the hectic pace of the city. You feel a sense of low-key luxury at the house, which is charming, personal, and beautiful.

They have a weight set with Swiss Ball in the basement gym and there is a now full bath there as well (a great addition!). As usual in B&Bs, a beautiful breakfast is provided. The house is remote and very quiet, which is part of the allure of the place, but close enough to Brattleboro and Manchester Center that you can find some very nice restaurants within a short drive. The Newfane Creamery has great sandwiches and prepared meals for lunch or take-out dinner, about 15 minutes away. If classical music interests you, the Marlboro Festival is about 40 minutes away. There is beautiful and popular clothing-optional beach nearby that the guys can tell you how to hike to.

Onsite, the wood-fired hot tub and swimming pond are perfectly suited to the rustic feel of the house and location for those who want to get wet. The gardens are beautiful, and Dan the garden manager has really gotten things looking great this year!

For central-Canadians traveling to Provincetown or Boston, it’s about halfway and makes a wonderful stopover.

Overall, highly recommended and very unique!

  • The Perfect “Guy Place”!

    Scott & Dave-

I just can’t thank you enough for your kindness and friendship during my recent trip to Frog Meadow.

The place is simply beyond words…I guess “Oasis” describes it best!

The food, the fun, the atmosphere, well…it’s amazing! It’s just a perfect “guy place”!

All my best to you both…see you again soon!

  • “A Spectacular Friendly Oasis for Men in the Hills of Vermont”

Set among old stone walls, beautiful gardens, grassy meadows, a swimming pond , trails through the woods and delightful wood fired hot tub it is easy to let go of all our day to day cares and simply enjoy the magic of all Frog meadow Farm has to offer. Located high up a hill off a well maintained dirt road in the hills of Newfane, Vermont on 63 spectacular acres Frog Meadow is small with only five rooms …but I always have a nice time and have met wonderful guys from all over the world!

When the weather is nice the social hub is the wood fired hot tub and surrounding outdoor stone patio that looks out over the meadows and the hills beyond where guests share stories, laughter and camaraderie. It is not unusual for guests to create an impromptu evening social hour, sharing cheese, crackers or perhaps a beverage contributing to the “hey were all friends here atmosphere”.

Dave’s delicious breakfasts include fresh fruit, juice and depending upon the day we might have French toast with bacon, on other days it might be waffles with a sausage patty but breakfast is always delicious. I enjoy breakfast time socializing with the other guests.

Frog Meadow Farm is a B&B that is way more than just a place to sleep and eat breakfast, it is an experience one treasures which has kept me coming back several times a year since 2009!

  • Great Place to Stay!

After traveling on an easy to negotiate but unpaved country road we did not know what to expect…what we found was a lovely, very well maintained property in a beautiful setting with super hospitable hosts who prepare terrific breakfasts and are eager to share information about the area–restaurants, things to do, etc.

We had a large and comfortable room in the main house with a shared bath that worked out fine. The wood fired hot tub was a highlight. Regret that it rained too much to fully enjoy the pond and other features of the property or the Rock River which is close by.

It was a lovely relaxing stay and would not hesitate to return.

  • Our visit to Frog Meadow was amazing…we are talking about going back again and again!

My partner and I recently made a visit to Frog Meadow as it was referred to us by friends of ours. We both had not been to Vermont since we were kids and were amazed by this location. We arrived after a 21/2 hour drive up from southeastern CT. We followed the directions that were provided and found the property very easily.

As we pulled in the driveway we were both amazed by the spectacular views. My partner and I got out of the car and he said…”listen”. There was silence except for the sounds of nature. We were greeted by Scott, who showed us around and checked us in to our accommodations. The house was spotless, beautifully decorated with wonderful touches throughout.

Robert and I stayed in Brook Cottage…we really did not know what to expect but only from the photo on the web and the positive reviews. It was perfect for our weekend of R&R. The cottage was set by a trickling brook. We walked inside and just thought it was great! We both had a wonderful night sleep and the bed was quite comfy for our two night visit.

We took a walk in the woods on the property’s trails, walked through the apple orchard, relaxed in the sun by the pond. Now it was time to relax in the wood-fired hot tub…we loved it, as we enjoyed cocktails before heading out for dinner in Brattleboro! David and Scott were very helpful in restaurant suggestions. We ended up eating at Fireworks. Our meals were delicious!

After a good night sleep we headed up to the house to shower and to have breakfast. We were greeted by David and Scott, as coffee and tea were ready for us at the breakfast bar along with fresh fruit, granola and yogurt. We headed for the table that was simply set, loved the touches of jars of fresh local jams, maple syrup and the garnish of a flower from their beautiful gardens that was presented on our plate that was served to us. Breakfast was yummy!

Today was our massages and what a wonderful, relaxing treat it was for both of us! It has been a bit stressful in our lives and that morning all stress was released and we both felt refreshed.

Our visit to Frog Meadow was amazing…we are talking about going back again and again. A weekend of rest and relaxation, new friends, nature, delicious foods, and laughter.

As an Innkeeper myself I highly recommend Frog Meadow. Continued success to Scott and David!

  • Perfect Retreat from the Hectic Urban Lifestyle!

This was our second visit…we were married at Frog Meadow in 2011!

Super beautiful location, with a nice wood-burning hot tub. Fireplace in a nice living space, if you go in the winter.

This is the perfect retreat from the hectic urban lifestyle. This is a GREAT place to relax and unwind!

Close to Rock River and Brattleboro, which has excellent restaurants and shops.

    SUPER breakfast prepared by Dave!

Great bath products that smell super!

    Kelton, Plantation, FL
  • An Extraordinary Retreat

After seven consecutive summers visiting Frog Meadow, it is obvious that I enjoy my time with Dave and Scott and the many guests who visit the resort during my stay.

The grounds are aesthetically manicured, the facilities are immaculate to the point of perfection and the owners are the most hospitable, helpful and amicable innkeepers one could possibly have the occasion to meet.

Minimalists like to believe that “less is more” and one probably shouldn’t challenge that well-tested belief. However, this time around, instead of my usual three day stay, I added a fourth day to my visit. That extra 24 hours made a big difference and I enjoyed myself immensely.

I am convinced that I can’t get enough of the natural beauty and magical splendor that Vermont has to offer, including the “gay oasis of the northeast” Frog Meadow Farm!

  • Tout est parfait! Soyez sûrs que je reviendrai! (Everything is perfect! Be sure that I will return!)

    (a translation is below)

I must admit that I hate the mountains, but this B&B is truly exceptional!

The house is perched on a hill overlooking a valley surrounded by mountains. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with beautiful trees and colorful flowers. The terraces are laid out to enjoy the sun and the views breathtaking.

As for the interior, it is decorated with taste, sober and unassuming. The rooms are very nice, spacious and clean and the bedding is very good quality. The bathrooms are extremely clean and is comparable to a big hotel complete with bath and beauty products.

The owners, Dave and Scott are two exceptional people and are very attentive to their customers, they will provide you with information about everything to do nearby. The breakfast service is plentiful, but balanced.

Everything is perfect! Be sure that I will return!

Thank you both for a fantastic “Winter Getaway”!

Dave, your massages were excellent, breakfasts were delicious and all the details of hosting were handled beautifully…Scott, we look forward to seeing more of you next time. We can’t wait to see how everything changes physically and socially during the Summer season!

  • Lovely Secluded Spot!

Frog Meadow is a lovely secluded spot in southern VT within a 30 minute drive to good skiing, and even closer to charming Brattleboro and it’s restaurants.

Yummy breakfast and a cozy living room with a giant fireplace and very kind hosts.

    Michael A., Brooklyn NY
  • A Spectacular Weekend!

    Dave and Scott,

We just want to thank you guys for opening up your home. It was a spectacular weekend!

We were here for some well needed R&R and your place is amazing from the time we pulled into the driveway, your setting is magnificent. Your home beautiful. Accommodations very comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast just delicious. Our massages were just what we needed to release our stress and shut off the rest of the world.

We are already discussing our next stay at Frog Meadow!

  • Downright Magical!

Thanks for an amazing retreat in the woods!

Frog Meadow was more than I imagined; tranquil, relaxing and downright magical!

The two of you were perfect hosts…in fact I felt like I was a long-time friend being invited for a weekend stay, rather than a first-time visitor.

Thank you for taking such good care of me.

    I shall return!

  • Wonderful Honeymoon, Looking Forward to Returning for our First Anniversary Next August!

Sorry it has taken so long to thank you for the picture of us departing from Frog Meadow on our honeymoon.  We had a wonderful time after having had the stress of planning a backyard wedding for 100+ guests in six weeks…we sure needed to relax!

And relax we did…Frog Meadow was the perfect place to unwind!  The grounds were beautiful, the swimming pond was a pleasure, the guests were fun and delightful while enjoying the patio and hot tub.  The two of you were the perfect hosts, always giving advice on restaurants and things to do.  Brattleboro is a joy, feeling more gay than Greenwich Village does now.

Looking forward to returning for our first anniversary next August…Thanks again!

Tim and John, Long Island, NY
  • Thanks a Bunch!

We really enjoyed our quick jaunt to Vermont and staying at Frog Meadow Farm. Its exactly what the doctor ordered and we were so glad to meet you both and the (visiting guys from the) Beacon Light (Guest House in Provincetown) as well!

We had a great day after we left…through Bennington VT and the Clark Museum in Williamstown MA…Coffee in North Adams and we were back home on the Cape…still pining for Vermont.

Thanks for being gracious hosts and making us feel both comfortable and at home!

  • An Extraordinary Place So Generously Shared!

    Hi Dave and Scott,

We’ve just wanted to say again how much we loved our brief stay at Frog Meadow and what an extraordinary place we think you’ve developed and generously shared with all of us.

We really will hope to come up with occasions to return to your corner of Vermont and stay longer!

We’ve started spreading the word to friends around here, and heard back from our friend Jeff in NY that he has been to your place several times and enthusiastically agreed with our report.

By the way, we did follow Scott’s tip and stopped at Burdick’s Chocolate on our way back north.  Loved that too, and I’m looking at some small boxes of that great chocolate sitting near my desk!

So, many thanks and many good wishes for your continued success.

Hope the apple pressing turned out well!

    Jack & Brian, Austin, Texas
  • Amazing B&B!

Thanks for your hospitality, massage and overall amazing Bed & Breakfast!

My stay has really meant so much to me – I hope to be able to return soon.

  • Exceptional Oasis in Southern Vermont

My husband and I were completely delighted in our discovery of this gem of a guesthouse located near Brattleboro, Vermont.

The entire experience at Frogmeadow was perfect – one feels as if the owners spared no expense in creating and running this fine B&B.

The location is well situated for day trips to nearby sites – for us, our destination was Hildene in Manchester .

We liked our stay at Frogmeadow so well that we are definitely going back again in another season!

    Steve & George, Harvard, MA
  • A perfect place to recharge your batteries!

Every year we make the trek from Ottawa, Canada to Newfane, Vermont. We find the hosts Scott and Dave to be remarkable in their ability to create the right atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy the company that is attracted to such a divine place.

Next year we plan on making this our stopover point when returning from Provincetown en route home to Ontario. A couple of nights here to relax soaking in the wood-fired hot tub, admiring the gardens and chatting with new friends will put us in the proper mood to be fully relaxed when we arrive home.

Here’s to our next visit to Frog Meadow!

  • I Floated Back to Work on a Black Inner Tube!

Just wanted to write to thank you both for the hospitality during last weekend.

Somehow despite the typical, post-vacation blahs, I floated back to work on a black inner tube that has only known the cool, clean waters of a Vermont mountainside pond. The good feelings of masculine friendship, the gentle, ordinary conversations of the weekend, those hugs, the laughs, the swing, the nasturtiums drenched in maple syrup, the woodland stroll, the pond stayed with me.

Thanks also for the newsletter.  It inspires me to try to get back there this fall/winter if I can!

It was great to share the weekend with you!

    Gratefully yours-

    Tim & Chen, Boston, MA
  • Lucky Me!

Thanks for a great experience at Frog Meadow.

You have created a wonderful oasis and I am lucky to have been able to experience it!

I look forward to coming back sometime soon.

    All the best-

  • Revived, Renewed and Definitely Refreshed!

This was my sixth consecutive visit to Frog Meadow Farm (FMF). I had thought I’d take a break this year and try a different B&B or venue, however the siren call of FMF beckoned me back!

This visit I was entranced by the pastoral visuals and sounds which I experienced: A doe nursing a newborn fawn; honeybees collecting nectar; chipmunks playfully scurrying in the garden; and the syncopated rhythm of frogs croaking in the distance. And yet its always the astute and accommodating innkeepers, Dave and Scott coupled with their impeccable B&B and well manicured gardens that are the main draw!

All the guests this time around were returnees and it was like a gathering of old friends where each person was given special treatment and attention. Scott and Dave are the consummate innkeepers. They run a tight and efficient ship, the grounds, guest rooms and facilities are impeccably maintained. The breakfast is delicious, hot and filling and the hospitality couldn’t be better.

Honolulu, Puerto Vallarta, San Francisco, Palm Springs, Fort Lauderdale and Provincetown are all tempting alternatives for my summer retreat, however 2015 will once again bring me back to Newfane Vermont to be “revived,” “renewed,” and “refreshed” at Frog Meadow Farm!

Stan the Man, Orchard Hill, Georgia
  • “Super! We got married in the garden here”

The Frog Meadow Suite is a great private room with a private shower and jacuzzi tub.

Beautiful house and grounds…Hot tub is delightful…Close to hiking and a local river with a wonderful gay beach!

Breakfast was the BEST we ever had!

Hosts are awesome people…Laid back, no attitude.

    A+++

  • Cleared My Head & Warmed My Heart

Thanks so much for your hospitality. Frog Meadow is a magical place, I felt right at home with you and the other guests!

The peacefulness cleared my head and the kindness of strangers warmed my heart. I feel as though I have met some truly wonderful people.

I am looking forward to my return to Vermont, I feel as though I have fallen in love with Frog Meadow, Rock River & Brattleboro.

    Much love to you both!

  • Fabulous place, superb accommodations, breakfast to die for!

    10-Year Anniversary and Marriage Extravaganza!

We are back home and settled in, but wanted to take this time to say a special “Thank You” to Scott and Dave for the wonderful time shown us for our special wedding weekend on May 31st.

All the simple and small details…from sight seeing to getting my hair cut for the wedding…to arranging a really nice dinner on our wedding night for us was all set up by you guys.

TALK ABOUT SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY FOR US MISSISSIPPI BOYS !!!

Your place is fabulous, your accommodations superb, your morning breakfast to die for, and your friendship and memories forever imprinted in our minds.

Thank you for everything, the weekend wedding extravaganza was a fabulous success!

  • Relaxed, Rejuvenated and Recharged

As always, after a weekend at Frog Meadow, we’re feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and recharged.

The special energy, the camaraderie, the wonderful accommodations and fantastic breakfast – it’s why we return again..and again…and again!

    Paul and Ken, Worcester, MA
  • Delightful and Memorable

We’re now home and back to the daily grind…we wanted to take this opportunity to THANK YOU BOTH for a delightful stay and memorable marriage ceremony!

You have a beautiful home on spectacular grounds. We couldn’t have asked for a finer place to be married…and Dave’s breakfasts were delicious!

Again many thanks for a most memorable stay!

Jim & Ed, St. Petersburg, FL
  • Escape from NY and R-E-L-A-X !

The weather was the only ‘questionable’ aspect of our long weekend visit – first day it rained all day, then cleared up and was gorgeous.

The wood fired hot tub was the center for meeting and social time – great warm up on the rainy days and cool evenings. As we discovered – everyone returns to Frog Meadow again and again, I believe we were the only first time visitors.

Scott and Dave are true gentlemen and excellent hosts – very warm and welcoming. Dave made a fantastic breakfast daily and gave us both an excellent massage on our visit. Scott ran around playing host and attending to everyone’s needs – room details, hot tub towels, computer issues, concierge …. Master of his domain! They are a handsome genuine couple and care that their guests have everything needed to enjoy the visit.

We ‘Love’ the property, buildings, atmosphere, and ‘brotherhood’ developed amongst the guests.

We will definitely return and look forward to another visit at Scott & Dave’s!

    Tom & Bill, Goshen, NY
  • Authentic Fun Getaway

I had a fabulous three day weekend with David and Scott at their Inn in Newfane Vermont .

It was so calming, the air was so clear and the service was so caring and excellent and the cleanliness and the hospitality and the food were absolutely amazing 🙂 When you get waffles in the morning with fresh blueberries picked on the property amidst the flowers it’s a real amazing experience!

Nice people, great hosts, a wonderful spot…truly a real “Five Star” Inn!

    Jim S, Boston, MA
  • A Place to Relax

“Frog Meadow” is the right name for this great place. As soon as the sun went down the frogs and millions of fireflies came out and filled the meadow with lights and sound.

I truly needed to find a place to relax for a few days and this place was the perfect spot. The fact that there were no screaming kids doubled the peacefulness.

The hosts are two truly great people and perfect for owning a B&B!

  • Like Our Personal Vacation Home!

As a couple of New Yorkers, we find the need to flee the concrete every few weeks, and Frog Meadow has become one of our favorite escapes. The owners, Scott and Dave, have created a property for gay men that perfectly balances rustic simplicity with high-end accommodations.

The B&B sits on a beautifully landscaped plot tucked away in the woods. When you’re on the property, the rest of world disappears. You can hike the secluded trails, take a swim in the pond, relax in the wood-fired hot tub, or just sit on the patio and watch the hummingbirds and chipmunks. And be sure to take advantage of the outdoor shower–it offers a spectacular view at sunrise!

Each morning Dave will make a big breakfast that incorporates many locally-sourced ingredients. We’ve had omelets made with asparagus harvested from the garden, honey from their apiary, and apple cider made with fruit from their little orchard. Everything feels very special and deliberate.

While it is a hike from NYC–about 4 hours each way–we always come back so relaxed that it’s worth the trip. You won’t be disappointed!

    Norwalker, NY, NY
  • Exceeded Expectations

My partner and I had won a silent auction for a night at Frog Meadow. When we bid, we were so taken with the beautiful pictures of the house and grounds.

The place is amazing and our hosts were wonderful. We were able to genuinely relax!

We snow shoed, enjoyed the hot tub and met great guys. We left feeling rested and relaxed, something we don’t typically experience after a vacation.

    We will certainly return!

    J&J, Swanton, VT
  • Perfect Relaxation!

What a perfect spot to relax!

Very social. Great amenities. And very private when we wanted it to be. Great breakfasts, too!

Scott and Dave’s hospitality was wonderful. They gave us great restaurant recommendations for lunch &  dinner. Newfane’s Fat Crow and Echo in Brattleboro were excellent!

    Daniel B, Springfield, Massachusetts
  • Southern Vermont is the best kept secret in the Northeast!

Gorgeous house, beautiful setting, warm hospitality. What else could you ask for?

Perfect place for a romantic getaway! Southern Vermont is the best kept secret in the Northeast.

Snowshoeing was so much fun (and a pretty effective way to “work off” the yummy breakfasts). Seriously we couldn’t have been happier.

Thank you so much boys, we daydream about visiting again very soon!”

    Juan & Pat, Hudson, NY
  • Planning our next visit!

Just wanted to say thanks again for a wonderful getaway!

Curt is still thanking me for surprising him with the trip for his birthday, and the first thing we both said as we got in the car to come home was “when can we come back?”

We had a wonderful and relaxing time and are already looking forward to planning our next visit.

Maybe even for the Spring Work Camp if we can make it!

    Mike and Curt, Webster, MA
  • A Wondrous Oasis for Men

This was my third stay at this wonderfully hospitable, welcoming, calming, and rejuvenating B&B. The setting is ideal, with swimming, sunning, hot-tubing, hammocking, and hiking all on the property. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and there is tea/coffee available at any time.

Besides all the material reasons to favorably review this delightful getaway, an aura of friendliness and mutual respect pervades the space and creates an environment of warmth and congeniality.

I cannot recommend this Inn and its superb hosts enough!

    LSR, Roslindale, MA
  • Just Can’t Get Enough!

The fact that this was my fourth stay at Frog Meadow sums up quite adequately my love for this place. The owners have their act down to a science and they know how to make a guest feel welcomed and appreciated. Since I am a repeat guest, my check-in was basically a warm hug from the owners and direct access to my room.

One would think after four trips there would be some deterioration in the quality of the room and the accommodations in general, but there has not been any change, except to get better. The grounds are exceptionally well kept. The garden is lush and colorful and a day reading a book or soaking in the hot tub is relaxing and comforting as you forget the cares of the world.

Since it is a B&B, dinner is not provided, yet Dave and Scott have an extensive list of restaurants to satisfy the varying tastes of their clients. These are two of the most accommodating innkeepers, I have met (and believe me, I have spent a lot of time in B&B’s, hotels and inns in the US and around the world). None of them hold a candle to Scott and Dave. Just keep in mind, although this is a low key inn without all the bells and whistles of a larger establishment, you will meet a wide range of guests of all ages, professions, races, tastes and backgrounds. An evening talking around the hot tub with fellow guests can be more invigorating then an evening at a bar or nighttime gay establishment. Its a feature that has added to my enjoyment and appreciation of this idyllic location in Newfane, Vermont.

Take it from me, Frog Meadow Farm is worth a visit!!

    Stan, Orchard Hill, Georgia
  • The Frogs Have It!

Frog Meadow was our 1st stop of a New England road trip. Booking “blind” via the internet, my partner and I could not have been more impressed and thrilled by Frog Meadow. Staying in the Brook Cottage was such an amazing experience. A short walk to the house, but well worth it!

The hosts were welcoming and made you feel right at home. The breakfast at the B&B was outstanding and if you go in the fall you get a treat to have their homemade cider – YUM! The massage was an experience in itself and should NOT be missed!

We had a couple of Vermont rain days and between the massage, hot tub and beautiful fall surroundings, we hardly noticed.

Scott & David are amazing and you must put this stop on your list when staying in Vermont!

Thank you for a wonderful visit! We will be back!

  • A Week’s Worth of Fun and Relaxation in Two Days

I want to thank you for another great couple of days at Frog Meadow. On the ride back home, we kept talking about all the wonderful experiences we had over the weekend….I’m still having quite a bit of afterglow as I write this!   Here is what we were able to pack into two days up on the hill at Frog Meadow:

    • The Gallery Walk in Brattleboro on Friday night and seeing some great art, some fun art and some question marks that made us think…
    • Dinner and martinis at Fireworks (I had the fig, prosciutto and Gorgonzola pizza and Ron had the plank-grilled salmon)…
    • Hot tubbing and cocktails with new friends…
    • Breakfast of apple buckwheat waffles and bacon…
    • Some insight into the devastation and personal impact of Hurricane Irene while driving up the Rock River Valley…
    • Pressing cider with local families and new friends — a very memorable experience…
    • Dinner at The Marina overlooking the West River at sunset…
    • Delicious french toast and sausage breakfast…
    • The Newfane Heritage Festival (I picked up some engraved slate coasters that I’m using as I write this)…
    • A visit to Dutton’s Farm Stand and seeing how they make cider…
    • The Dummerston Apple Pie Festival (complete with about 500 bikers and a trip across one of Vermont’s signature covered bridges)…
    • Laying in the sun and taking an outdoor shower surrounded by spider lilies, scented with the familiar and unique balsam and cedar “Lumberjack” fragrance of your organic soaps…
    • Watching the trees change color…
    • Visiting the Grafton Cheese store for yummy goodies on the way out…
    • Little traffic and a quick ride home…

Beyond sharing your wonderful world with us this past weekend, I want to thank you for all your warmth, consideration and hospitality during this past summer’s many visits to Frog Meadow. You guys and Frog Meadow have a very special place in my heart – and I want to say thank you for that.

Until I return next, please keep my seat on the patio in a sunny place!

    Dave S, Danbury, CT
  • Super Nice for our Wedding!

    1) CLEAN!

    2) Nice, sweet and helpful.

    3) Top of the mountain with excellent views

    4) HOT TUB is SWEEEEET!

    5) Will come back!

  • Wow, Amazing Place!

Wow, the website pics not do this place justice…located secluded in the rolling hills of Southern VT, the views were breathtaking..with endless acres of rolling groomed meadows. The hosts were amazing and accommodations immaculate.

You can bicycle nearby, enjoy nude swimming at Rock River, relax in the resorts wood fired hot tub, swim in the spring fed pond, nap in a hammock, or take advantage of a massage in the on-site massage studio.

    Marc, Middleton, MA
  • 5-Star B&B

Frog Meadow provides a 5-star B&B experience. The remote setting on a VT mountaintop is incredibly beautiful; the property grounds with hot tub, swimming pond and hiking trails have everything you could want in such a secluded setting. The accommodations are gorgeous and each is unique from the Main House rooms to the “Brook Cottage” in the woods to the “Bee Cottage” in the meadow.

The owners are gracious, sophisticated and knowledgeable regarding the region and make you feel completely at home and at ease. And the “massage/accommodation” package is a great offer.

This was my second visit in three years and I have every intention of returning.

    John R., Easton, PA
  • Three Times and Counting!

This was my third consecutive year visiting Frog Meadow Farm. I feared I would find this visit routine and boring, but to my surprise the hosts, Dave and Scott, made my time as exceptional as ever.

The accommodations are immaculate.Being a neat freak, I have yet to find a problem with any aspect of this B&B. Dave whips up a delicious and filling breakfast each morning with fresh ingredients many from their own garden. The setting is tranquil and is perfect for the traveler who wants to clear his mind, relax by the hot tub or by the pond and commune with nature.

Scott and Dave are accessible and will provide information regarding the sites and sound of Newfane, the surrounding area and where to get a good dinner in the evening. My favorite is the Four Columns Inn Restaurant. Its a little expensive, but it’s my vacation and I don’t mind splurging a little.

And lastly, Dave’s massages will highlight your stay. If you visit, be sure to schedule a massage appointment…you won’t regret it!!

Folks this is a first-class establishment and well worth taking a trip to Newfane. I’m already planning next year’s visit, Number 4!!

  • Nirvana in Vermont for Gay & Bi Men

The moment you arrive at Frog Meadow you are blown away by the natural beauty and the peaceful setting that envelops you. Beautiful flowers, gardens, private hiking trails, a pond with “frogs” that invites you to swim, a hammock, and a hot tub create a tranquil environment.

You are welcomed by your hosts Scott and Dave, given a private tour of the grounds and then you enter the Inn. You immediately recognize that the design, architecture, furnishings of the Inn was created with love and harmony. The attention to detail, the natural light, and the beautiful wood used throughout the house creates a perfect environment to relax and unwind.

Our room was incredibly comfortable and private. The entire Inn is spotless and clean. The other guests were friendly and yet also allowed my partner and me private time. Breakfast made to order by Dave was 5 star. He is not only a great cook, but also gives a great massage.

We would highly recommend this as a very special get away. We can’t wait to return!

  • Commune with Nature

This place is incredibly well-maintained. Scott & Dave have great taste. The whole property — outside and in — is gorgeous. The rooms are comfortable and immaculate. The massage I received was really soothing, restorative. The swimming pond and hot tub were refreshing and the hiking trails are vast. The general tone of this place is friendly and relaxed.

    Definitely worth visiting again!

  • A Delight if you Value Friendship and a Quiet Pace

We were fortunate to have discovered this B&B when we were looking for massages during a week’s stay at a property near Brattleboro with ten of our best ‘couple’ friends. Three years later we came back as a couple and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of this place…mountain views, gardens, hiking and swimming in the spring-fed pond. It was glorious.

The eight other guests were just the right number to strike up interesting conversations at the breakfast table or in the hot tub. Scott and Dave were great hosts who were very gentle and helpful, passionate about this place, its history and what it has to offer…from nude sunbathing along a stretch of Rock River to the fine dining choices all around this rural setting.

All in all, a place worth returning to!

  • Completely Content

Frog Meadow is a truly wonderful place. When I travel I usually want to go places and see or do things. Not in this B&B. The house (tastefully decorated) is on top of a hill, the end of the world, so it feels. I was completely content to be there. The view south across the valley is great, there is the pond, the hot tub.

Dave’s breakfasts are excellent and his massage is very good, too. His partner Scott seemed like a mover and a shaker to me and together they keep the place in very good shape. They are a great couple! I met lots of nice guys there and some were really fun … I left Frog Meadow completely rejuvenated.

When I get back to New England, I’ll certainly go there again.

  • Do Not Look Further. This is the Place to Stay!

Amiable and hospitable hosts. Beautiful accommodations. Amazing acreage. Beautiful views.

The highlights are the wood fired hot tub and the swimming pond.

This is what all B&B’s should aspire to be!

  • Utter Comfort and Happiness!

Just back from a refreshing, sybaritic weekend with a group of friends at Frog Meadow in Newfane, VT, just north of Brattleboro.

The property, a good 1000 feet above the nearby Rock River, up a very long but well-graded [no worries at all about a lowslung city car in summer – ask the owners in heavier-weather seasons] unpaved country road, is a stunning hillside meadow and lush country garden/orchard site crowned by a warm, handsome, beautifully crafted post & beam house full of amusing art & folk-art (and for-real, not kitsch, except where intentional and very funny) and diverting books. Hiking (and winter X-C skiing/snowshoeing) trails ring the place, and there’s a fun dammed farm-pond (with frog population) for floating in inner tubes or taking a swim on a hot day.

The beds are among the best I’ve ever slept in and the whole place is spotlessly clean and bright and cheerful, perfectly maintained by the hosts – great guys; more to follow – and their invariably smiling and friendly support staff.

The wood-fired wooden hot tub out on the lushly planted stone terrace is a particular joy, especially on a starry night, with an alfresco shower, well-stocked with the B&B’s proprietary body care products (also excellent) right alongside. Accommodation options range from a very cushy suite in the main house (and two similarly comfortable and generous bedrooms with a shared bath on the landing), to a big cushy deluxe sort of suite over the yoga-studio, which is ideal for a big group of friends.

The most magical option, if one is willing to (faux) rough it a bit (given the indoor plumbing is all up at the main house) is the “Brookside Cottage” – a lovely little wood cabin with sash windows on all sides perched right beside the burbling brook that falls through the site, at the end of a couple of hundred yards’ walk (perfect for all needed privacy) down a stonewalled garden path. I stayed here on an earlier overnight visit in June, with the sound of the brook through the open windows and fireflies dancing outside all night – couldn’t ask for a better mental reset. Of the options around the Brattleboro area for gay travellers and possible devotees of Rock River, this is the most sybaritic option, yet entirely reasonable at a price equivalent to, or actually a bit better than, what any of the utterly bland corporate chain hotels around charge for an OK but plasticized, utterly generic room and prepackaged breakfast.

Contrast that with owner Dave’s French toast and pancakes with local maple syrup and country bacon, made while you watch (and enjoy yogurt, fruit, coffee as a warmup), all garnished with fresh berries and nasturtium blossoms from the garden (when in season, of course). No contest – now that I’ve found Frog Meadow, I’ll never stay anywhere else when in Brattleboro. Host/owners Scott & Dave are super-nice guys, welcoming, smart, very knowledgeable about local history and activities. They excel at putting their guests at ease, and are also perfectly discreet and not in anyone’s space if that’s more the guest’s mood: it feels like visiting the country place of particularly skilled and sensitive hosts.

We are all the richer for the fact that these guys have decided to open up their home to a wider circle.

    Todd, Providence, RI
  • Great Time and Great Hosts

I came to Frog Meadow with a group of about 12 others. I’d never been there but many of the others had.

The owners are extremely attentive to their guests’ happiness and clearly take pride in their place.

Every morning we were served a delicious fresh cooked breakfast, with plenty of coffee and tea at our disposal. The rooms and beds were all great and the entire facilities kept in top shape.

The land around the houses is gorgeous and well maintained. There’s a pond right near the main house, and lots of chaises/chairs are there for relaxation with plenty of space in the sun or the shade. Also a huge hammock!

I would say the centerpiece of the whole place is right at the main house: there is a wood-fired hot tub at the main patio surrounded by flowers and looking out toward the pond and the hills beyond. If we were chilled or whatever, everyone had a thick, plush terrycloth robe in which we could lounge around.

Overall I really had a great time and could easily see myself back there again! Highly recommended.

  • Perfect Vermont Retreat!

One never knows what to expect at the top of a windy dirt road. In Newfane, VT, however, one can expect a warm welcome to your new home away from home. One can expect to leave the cares of ordinary life at the electric fence; one can expect an amazing breakfast followed by a stellar massage; one can expect to head home feeling better than you did when you arrived.

Dave and Scott have carved out a little piece of heaven atop Newfane Hill. During my two-night stay, I indulged in Dave’s skill in the art of massage, and had more than a couple dips in the wood-fired hot tub. Breakfast was stellar each morning, with french toast one morning and waffles the next; the real maple syrup keep it feeling authentic! I was concerned that being on the younger side of the crowd would be awkward, but everyone was incredibly warm and I made a few new friends! Plus, Scott and Dave are so friendly, it’d be hard not to make new friends!

I stayed in the South Room; the room was spacious and comfy. My favorite place to hang out, besides the hot tub and in front of the fireplace, was on the day bed in the living room, napping while the rain fell on the skylights above. Perfect, you ask? Pretty much!

Rock River is only a few miles down the road, though I was tempted to just hang out at the B&B all day as the grounds are beautiful – I can’t wait to go back and explore all the hiking trails, and maybe some x-country skiing this winter!

  • Fantastic VT Men’s Getaway!

It’s difficult to come up with the perfect words to describe the Frog Meadow B&B – Relaxing? Rejuvenating? Or just plain fun? Whatever those words may be, there is something completely refreshing and liberating about being on a lush and beautiful Vermont farm surrounded by friendly men in a completely non-judgmental environment. Plus – and this is the best part – you can be as clothed or unclothed as you feel comfortable with. Want to skinny dip in a crystal clear pool fed by underground springs? No problem. Want to relax fully clothed in a hammock by a small meadow with a good book amid breathtaking views of the Green Mountains beyond? Sure, why not. Here in the mountains it’s all about finding your inner peace, whatever that entails. No one cares what you look like, clothed or otherwise.

Dave and Scott are the consummate hosts, going the extra mile with equal doses of wit and candor. Their little slice of heaven outside the village of Newfane is easily accessible from major highways and well worth the final, winding 2.7 mile drive uphill on an unpaved road in true rural Vermont fashion. The payoff at the end for those unaccustomed to such rustic paths is an immaculately designed and maintained post and beam house with a huge granite kitchen, large eating area, comfortable family room, and three large bedrooms, plus a separate suite over the garage with two beds, a sofabed, and kitchen that’s perfect for groups. Those of a more solitary bent can opt for the literal cabin in the woods, unencumbered with modern necessities such as running water for the pure pleasure of being surrounded by nothing but the quiet sounds of chirping insects and a babbling brook amid the cleansing aroma of cedar planks.

All the rooms are comfortably furnished with Vermont wood beds, plush chairs, pillow-top mattresses, and sheets with a high enough thread count for the pickiest Queen. Ahem. Dave and Scott have a discerning eye for the smallest detail, include towels that are kept nice and toasty on a towel warmer in each room.

The best part of Frog Meadow is that there simply is never a shortage of things to do. Start the day with a hearty breakfast made fresh every morning by Dave, including banana-infused waffles served piping hot from an enormous, beeping waffle iron or perhaps crustless quiche infused with local dill and fresh onions supplemented by crunchy bacon and peppery nasturtium flowers. Dave, in addition to being a talented chef, also gives what is possibly one of the best massages on the face of the planet. We’ve had our fair share of professional massages through the years and believe me, his puts most therapists to shame. Dave has clearly taken his training and gone one step beyond, unencumbered quite frankly by the subliminal hangups most straight massage therapists have about the male body.

We were fortunate to be there during naked yoga weekend, where instructor Jon Poupore knew just how far to push you without requiring a chiropractic medic, whether you were a novice or seasoned pro (thanks again, Jon!) While definitely not an activity for the terminally shy, naked yoga will get you acquainted with muscles you never knew you had, all in a non-threatening and liberating environment. If yoga is not your thing, perhaps side trips to neighboring attractions like Mount Snow or the infamous Appalachian Trail might do the trick.

While Newfane is a small burg, there are enough nearby dining options to make things interesting at the end of a busy day. While we opted not to partake this time in the AAA and James Beard award-winning gourmet meals at the nearby Four Columns Inn (although other guests at Frog Meadow raved about the food), we did enjoy an excellent fish fry at funky and rustic Rick’s Tavern just outside Newfane village. Excellent eclectic cafe fare such as paninis, thai noodles and crab cakes are also available at the Newfane Cafe and Creamery.

And what can you say about that glorious hot tub. Wood fired, deep and well stocked with nearby towels and beverages. One soak under the brilliant stars with the moonlit landscape glowing beyond and all your problems – however fleetingly – disappear into a haze of steaming, swirling water. There is no better therapy in existence.

You’d have to be the greatest Scrooge in all of Scroogedom not to leave Frog Meadow rejuvenated, refreshed, and ready to take on the world. Thanks again guys for a fabulous weekend, and we’ll definitely be back with our friends on tow, along with all their body issues. They can just get over it.

  • Beautiful, Relaxed Vacation

My partner and I needed a break from the Texas heat this summer, and Frog Meadow was the perfect choice.

Not only did we enjoy cooler weather, our trip was extra special because of our stay at Frog Meadow. We enjoyed great company, delicious food, and wonderful surroundings. We can’t wait to return–maybe a fall trip to enjoy the fall foliage.

I would recommend Frog Meadow to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere with all the extra touches of a four-star hotel.

  • The Best!

Although a hurricane (Hurricane Irene) had passed through this part of Vermont the day before my arrival all was well at Frog Meadow. The property was unscathed and its owners, Dave and Scott, were actively engaged in aiding the less fortunate nearby but without neglecting their guests in any way.

It’s a great place to stay, wholly comfortable and congenial. With wonderful breakfasts.

    Thanks guys!

    Gordon, Palm Springs, CA
  • A Wonderful Retreat

We arrived rather late in the evening- Dave and Scott were both there to welcome us. Instantly we felt as though we were guests in their home. The hospitality was amazing, at the same time our privacy well respected.

The house and grounds are gorgeous. Everyone will feel comfortable here. Dave is a talented chef- breakfast is top notch- and the massage is fantastic. The service is impeccable and the staff is friendly and efficient.

The location is private and secluded, yet very convenient to restaurants, hiking, and other attractions. This was one of, if not THE best bed and breakfast experiences I have ever had!

    James & JR, Provincetown, MA
  • Heavenly, Both Times Around!

Having stayed at Frog Meadow 2 years ago, we included Vermont in our travel plans this year just so we could stay there again. Scott and Dave run a wonderful, really special place, with that home-away-from-home feeling.

The breakfasts are excellent and a great way to start the day. The location is spectacular, with views and woods as far as the eye can see. The gardens and property demonstrate great care and attention, and it’s the sort of place you can hang out and do nothing while enjoying the beauty. The other guests have been charming, and nothing beats that wood-fired hot tub for evening relaxation.

It’s truly a special place, with outstanding hosts. We’ll come back to Vermont if only to stay there again!

  • Such a Nice Place and Great People!

  • Heaven!

From the moment you arrive at Frog Meadow, you are transcended into a semi-rustic, sensual paradise. The wood fueled hot tub, is so unique, the owners are warm & friendly. Dave’s hearty breakfasts are absolutely delicious!

If you want to shed your stress and feel totally spoiled and nurtured…then I would say that Frog Meadow is the perfect place for you…it was for me!

  • Relaxing and Peaceful Stay

Frog Meadow is an excellent place to get away for some rest and relaxation. Scott and Dave were extremely welcoming and helpful in making us feel as if we were at our own home.

The scenery is gorgeous and the trails provide great a great outdoor activity. After, you can enjoy a soak in the hot tub. Dave’s breakfast and massage are awesome and the two nearest towns, Newfane and Brattleboro, provide excellent dining.

I would highly recommend any gay men traveling through Vermont to stay here.

    Pete, Brooklyn, New York
  • Delightful in Winter, Too!

I don’t write that many reviews and very seldom with top marks – but Frog Meadow really does deserve them.

First of all, a gorgeous elegant house, brand new, cool post & beam construction, lovely views, fun trés gay decor, and *immaculately* clean and neat. Our room was really nice, the bed was amazing, and the bathroom great.

Then, add friendly solicitous owners, wood-fired outdoor hot tub, fantastic massage, and a great breakfast. If you want a delightful weekend in winter country give this a try.

    Charlie B, Groton, VT
  • Beautiful Getaway

This was the second time my partner and I stayed here. It’s a beautiful bed and breakfast on a large and very private property, with miles of well-marked trails right outside. It’s near good downhill and cross-country skiing places, but the first time we stayed here, we snow-shoed through the forest on the property, and we had a great time just doing that.

The place is also a short drive from a nice town with excellent restaurants. The main house where we stayed is very nice and well-maintained. The public spaces are very comfortable with a huge fireplace that the owners started up each night. There is also a great hot tub right outside.

The owners, Scott and Dave, are very friendly and welcoming, and full of information on what to do in the area. Dave also makes a delicious breakfast each morning (waffles with fresh blueberries, French toast and omelettes the mornings we were there). We had a great time talking to Scott and Dave and the other guests over the breakfast table.

I ended up leaving a coat at the b&b without realizing it. Scott called the next day to let us know and then put it in the mail, which I very much appreciated. We’d definitely stay here again.

It’s one of the best b&b experiences we’ve had in more than 20 years of traveling together.

  • A Great Place to Stay

I couldn’t have been more pleased with my stay at Frog Meadow.

The property overlooks exceptional views of the countryside. The house, property, and all accommodations were meticulously maintained. My bed was very comfortable and my room was tastefully arranged and clean.

Check-in was easy and quick, and my Hosts were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Their website was very accurate and helpful!

I enjoyed my stay at Frog Meadow very much, and plan to stay again in the future.

  • AWESOME Guest House

A lovely home with the greatest innkeepers possible.

The house is charming, clean as a whistle. Very comfortable too.

Then, a hot tub heated with firewood. Delicious breakfast. You need not stay anywhere else when in southern Vermont/western Mass.

    You’ll love this place!

    AG, Barnstable, MA
  • Valhalla in VT

After five years, Dave and Scott have this B&B host thing down to a science. They are friendly, helpful and welcoming without a trace of overbearing.

The website doesn’t lie: the buildings and grounds are even more beautiful than pictured–the brook even babbles.

We only had 24 hours to relax (pathetic, huh?). But relax we did. The hot tub helped. We’ll be back for sure!

  • When is My Next Vacation? I’m Going Back!

When is my next vacation? I’m going back!

Great place to escape to. Perfect weather matched the perfect hosts.

Scott and Dave, you guys rock! We had a great time. Accommodations were exceptional. I would recommend the massage too.

    Looking forward to returning.

  • The More you Visit Frog Meadow, the Less Chance you Have of Having a “Ordinary” Vacation!

Nestled in a corner of Newfane, Vermont a gem has just been uncovered!

Are you looking for a place just to relax, unwind, get massaged and have your peace of mind? Then book a vacation at Frog Meadow. Your hosts, Dave and Scott are just accomodating, friendly, professional and respectful. The place is clean, friendly, inviting and centrally located to nearby towns. The accommodations are clean, modern, did I say clean, and sprawling. There are hiking trails, lounge areas, a swimming pond, a cool hot tub…just all that you need to be happy.

They have a large Main House with great rooms and two sweet Cottages, each a short walk from the Main House. It was a little piece of paradise in Vermont!

More is always less but the more you visit Frog Meadow, the less chance you have of having a “ordinary” vacation.

Visit them yourself and see if you’re not…completely content!

    I & J, Flushing, NY
  • Couldn’t Have Been Better!

My BF and I needed to get away, unwind, un-plug from civilization and could not have found a better place! We checked in on a Friday afternoon immediately felt relaxed and at peace.

Scott and Dave were execptional hosts. The house itself is beyond charming and very, VERY well maintained as were the gardens and all amenities.

We will definitely be going back once our schedules permit.

    Steve, Fairfield, CT
  • A Place to Really Relax

I was desperate for a reprieve from my busy schedule somewhere easily accessible, secluded and private. Frog Meadow was all of it and more.

I had the most relaxing two days in a long while in a company of the hosts and other few guest with plenty of privacy when I wanted.

This place is for people who are not looking for entertainment but like nature and privacy. David’s massage was topping on a cake!

I’ll be going back at the first opportunity I have.

    Mickie, Boston, MA
  • A Very Special Find

It’s already a week since we visited this special place. Scott and Dave created a unique place close to Brattleboro Vermont. Kudos for everything: the environment provided, the service, the breakfast etc. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Scott and Dave please keep the extraordinary work up. It has been an unforgettable weekend in our books.

    Reinhold M, Boston, MA
  • A Piece of Heaven

This was a truly exceptional place to stay..the owners have done everything right to create a little piece of heaven for gay men.

My husband and I stayed in August, so the gardens were beautiful and in full bloom. The outdoor, wood-fired hot tub was great, as was the outdoor shower. There’s nothing like showering naked outside with a view of the mountain range and the smell of fresh flowers.

The hosts were the perfect mix of friendly and informative without being bothersome. Everything feels right and good and I can’t think of how they could improve what they’ve created. I will definitely be back!

    SD, Manchester, NH
  • Amazing Time!

A very amazing vacation. Met great people who stayed there and am in contact with and have become friends. The hosts were amazing and will do anything and everything for you to make sure your stay is perfect. I could not have asked for a better vacation.

I cant say amazing enough. Cant wait to go back!

    MJL, Cranston, RI
  • Relaxing Serenity

Our stay was nothing but utter relaxation and pampering. Each morning started with a delicious home cooked breakfast. The Frog Meadow Suite my husband and I stayed in was huge and very well put together.

I would highly recommend this place to any gay men or gay couples (of all ages) who are looking to get away for some R&R.

    JH, Worcester, MA
  • Fantastic and Relaxing

Scott and Dave are the greatest hosts in all of Vermont. Their motto is “no worries” and we felt relaxed and comfortable there. Hope to return again soon.

    Shane, Dayton, OH
  • Amazing Peace and Relaxation

I chose this bed & breakfast primarily based on location and being gay-friendly & gay-owned. Upon arriving, I was totally blown away! I was immediately made to feel welcome by the hosts. I was amazed at how immaculate the building is kept. It is quite obviously a labor of love for both Dave and Scott.

I can’t remember the last time I have been so relaxed. I came to Vermont for a business meeting and decided to make Frog Meadow my “home base”. I was able to relax in the hot tub both before and after the meeting. It really didn’t feel like a business trip, it was more like a mini vacation.

I am ready, as soon as my calendar permits, to go back and spend more time here. This is truly a way to get away from it all!

  • Top of the Category!

My second visit. The middle of nowhere doesn’t get any better than this! Frog Meadow is beautifully private, so quiet and restful.

Scott and Dave are very friendly and helpful. The house is really lovely. The view is spectacular. The other guests were really nice.

If you want privacy, you can find it or if you want to socialize you can do that too. The breakfast is fantastic!

Really the top of the category. I plan to return again.

    Scott, Toronto Canada
  • Be Ravished by Beauty and Comfort

I first experienced Frog Meadow in November 2012. Frog Meadow is one of those rare abodes you will return to -when not in person – within your deepest memory and lucid dreams. It’s a place – and time – of walking in beauty, and immersing yourself – and being seduced – into the warm waters of hospitality, friendship and camaraderie. Privacy if and when you choose.

First, there is the land, the landscape and the view: You will drink it all in like a fine sensual Barbera wine from northern Italy. And then there is the being so generously welcomed and pampered by both remarkable innkeepers and hosts, Dave and Scott. Divine guys. Seriously Divine. Go for the opportunity to meet and establish connection with other guests in such a haven. Heaven.

Yes, there are those perfect amenities: the lovely house and home, the bountiful Vermont country breakfasts, the wood fired hot tub under the stars, the gym, the comfortable and handsome accommodations (The Brook Cottage located away from the main house in the woods like a Thai Spirit House is my choice),sublime common rooms, and the exquisite gardens.

Savor, Indulge, Invite, Inhale. Touch. All. Be ravished by beauty and comfort.

Frog Meadow is not only a place to live fully in every moment, it is a state of mind to take home with you until you return again.

Note: Check out all the special events, as well. I highly recommend the seasonal spring or fall work camp, a remarkable and intimate experience of solidarity. Mine in Autumn 2012 was unforgettable. Serious work, fun and fellowship.

  • A Class Act

Idyllic, calming, pastoral, aesthetically enchanting are just a few of the adjectives I can heap upon Frog Meadow Farm (FMF). Those adjectives coupled with the professional, courteous, detailed-oriented, and accommodating stewardship of its two class act proprietors, Dave and Scott still do not adequately describe this bed and breakfast in southern Vermont. I could write effusively regarding the merits and beauty of Frog Meadow, but you can read a more detailed account of my visit on July 25, 2012.

I returned for my fifth consecutive year to FMF and it is more than likely I will make my sixth pilgrimage in 2014. I have accepted the conclusion that I am pleasantly and undoubtedly addicted to FMF. Taking a musical quote from pop icon, Diana Ross, “If there’s a cure (for my addiction to Frog Meadow) I don’t want it!!!” Dave and Scott will definitely see me in 2014.

  • Best weekend ever!

Brilliant hosts , welcoming helpful attitude, super clean, listen to their recommendations!

    Glorious setting.

If you are a breakfast eater, this is your place! Five stars. No question!

  • Exceptional Experience, Will Definitely Come Back!

I was recently in New England for a two week vacation and spent three nights at Frog Meadow B&B. Not only was my stay the highlight of my trip, it was hands down one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in.

The setting is spectacular. The patio deck has sweeping views of beautiful mountains. There is are lovely flower gardens and a pond on the property. Surrounded by 63 acres, it is very private and it feels like you have entered a different time and place away from the hectic pace and pressures of everyday life.

The accommodations were very comfortable and the entire house was beautiful and spotless.

The guests were all wonderful people. Everyone I met was friendly, easy going, and low key. About half couples and half singles and about the same distribution of first time and returning guests (several guests come every year).

The hosts – Dave and Scott – are two of the nicest guys you will ever meet. They are both friendly, down-to-earth, and helpful.

The breakfast each morning was delicious and included French toast, omelets, and fresh-baked blueberry muffins with blueberries from their garden.

Dave offers massage appointments onsite and I highly recommend them. I am recovering from a sports injury and have avoided getting a massage for months as I was worried that a therapist would overdo it or not do very much. Dave’s approach was just what I needed. I had two massages during my stay and both were wonderful and relaxing.

And there is more. There are a great running trails nearby and the food options were excellent (definitely try the Newfane Café).

I left the Frog Meadow B&B feeling completely refreshed and recharged. I will definitely be back in the future for another stay!

    Jason, San Francisco
  • Suberb Time

What a great fall weekend in Vermont! Dave & Scott were awesome hosts—so helpful and friendly! Food was exceptional; they even provided a jug of fresh cider from their orchard for my partner’s birthday.

We are so lucky to have found this ideal spot…the hot tub, outdoor shower and the massage were all great!

    Dave, Avon CT
  • I had a blast and left very relaxed…

Thank you for the great weekend. I had a blast and was very relaxed in time for the Christmas & New Year’s Holiday crush.  Again, thanks for the great time!

  • Your refreshing sanctuary at Frog Meadow was such a joy

Finding Frog Meadow was such a joy.  My little Brook Cottage was so relaxing and warm. Your wood-fired hot tub was spectacular and so much fun with others. And your breakfast was so delicious and beautifully presented.  I continue to think beautiful thoughts of you and your “refreshing sanctuary” at Frog Meadow Farm.

  • A real nice place in God’s country

You have a real nice place in God’s country. I plan to see about getting a group of friends together and coming up for another weekend sometime soon.

  • Everything was great…looking forward to the next time!

Thanks for your hospitality this past week. Everything was really great! It’s amazing how close Newfane is to Long Island if you take the ferry…only about 130 miles using that route.  Looking forward to the next time we can make it up.  Thanks again – we are both still unusually relaxed! Sending you warm hugs.

  • Wish we had stayed another night and bagged the theater-going in NY. Next time we will know better!

Thanks for a great time.  We loved your place and will definitely return soon.  I can’t wait to try out the bodycare products I bought once I’m home! The rest of our road trip was great, but nothing as good as being at Frog Meadow. Both of us wished we had stayed another night and bagged the theater-going in NY. Next time we will know better!

  • A peaceful, welcoming environment that allowed me to reset my balance…hope to return soon

Thank you for the wonderful several days escape at Frog Meadow! I arrived a bit frazzled and undirected about my future. My time there in the peaceful, friendly, welcoming environment allowed me to reset my balance. Jokingly, I have told friends that “Jeffry 2.0” was shipped home from Frog Meadow, installed, and is now up and running. Hope to return soon!

  • Natural beauty + guest camaraderie = a Vermont masterpiece

Thank you for our amazing visit to Frog Meadow Farm!  I had an image in my head as to what it might be like and everything exceeded my expectations. Clearly you had a vision and your translation of that vision into reality is nothing short of a masterpiece.  It is such a pleasure to combine the amazing natural beauty of Frog Meadow Farm with, the camaraderie and “me too’s” and “I understands” that come from being with fellow gay/bi men.

The rooms, grounds, main house and of course the wood-fired hot tub were spectacular in every way. Breakfast each morning was delicious and the kitchen setting with the chit chat with fellow guests from around the world was simply a delight.

Your hospitality was genuinely appreciated and I felt the room payment was more like a contribution to help my friends Dave and Scott continue to share their little piece of paradise then a business transaction. I just wanted to be sure you knew how much we appreciated what you have done…I am already looking forward to my next visit to Vermont & Frog Meadow.

  • One of the most relaxing weekends I’ve ever had!

I just returned home and wish I was still at Frog Meadow.  This is one of the most relaxing weekends I’ve ever had! Everything was perfect and went beyond my expectations for feeling completely relaxed.  I especially enjoyed Dave’s massage and look forward to another one when I return. • An amazing experience and a wonderful way to relax…it far exceeded my expectations!

The Men’s Massage Weekend was an amazing experience and a wonderful way to relax…it far exceeded my expectations!   You guys have thought of everything and have created a very special place I really had the best get-away possible which was much needed.  I promptly lost track of the days of the week the moment I got there; I take that as a good sign! Thanks again for everything. Can’t wait to get back to Frog Meadow again real soon. xxoo

  • Do yourself a favor…pack a bag and ESCAPE to Frog Meadow!

ESCAPE – travel agents and designers hawking fragrance are fond of dangling that word as bait, offering reprieve from a life perhaps crowded by appointments, littered with gadgets, and increasingly frayed around the edges by worries. But how often does it ever truly reach its realization? Given the indignities of modern travel, I’d wager – not so much.

And then, there’s Frog Meadow: Reverently facing a postcard perfect vista of Vermont’s undulating hills, astride a patch of land that naturally slopes and dips into plains and angles, it seems organic somehow to the acreage on which it nestles. As if it had always been here, indifferent to deadlines and the habitually frantic demands of the rest of the world, silently bearing witness to the languid march of the seasons in brush strokes of leaves or snow against a panoramic canvas. The sun sets in nothing short of a grand gesture, sinking into the horizon in a wake of orange streaks framed by tree limbs reaching out to a purple sky that eventually becomes encrusted by a million shimmering stars. It’s the sort of spectacle meant to be shared, preferably cradled in the arms of someone equally precious. And if you haven’t any one, you almost believe here is where you might find him.

Inside, guests tend to convivial chats, luxuriating in the warmth of Dave and Scott’s generous accommodations while arriving at an often simultaneous consensus of finding ways to perfect il dolce far niente. Certainly there are more than several things you can do. The point, however, is having the option of doing nothing at all. And if there ever was a place for that, consider the nook in the living room, the hot tub, the patio, the bench swing or on top of Dave’s massage table as ideal spots to do so.  Shedding burdens comes easy at Frog Meadow.

Do yourself a favor and ditch the agenda, unplug the tangle of chargers, pack a bag, and, yes, oh yes…ESCAPE!

  • “Floating on an inner tube in the pond and watching the stars above was a magical moment I won’t soon forget!”

Words cannot express how much we all enjoyed this past weekend.  You are the consummate hosts…down to every little detail. I think my favorite moment happened Friday night:  Floating on an inner tube in the pond and watching the stars above was a magical moment I won’t soon forget!

  • “The Brook Cottage allowed me to escape the city completely”

Once again, The Brook Cottage allowed me to escape the city, completely. The panoramic view from the Cottage is beyond compare, especially in the winter when you can see the mountaintops through the trees. The night-time gatherings around the fireplace made me feel totally at home and the other guests were a lot of fun! You guys are surely the best hosts. Thanks again for another fantastic stay!  xxxooo

  • “Returned home recharged & rekindled…”

My Husband and I had a much-needed chance to talk, rest, eat, sleep, and enjoy each other’s company in an atmosphere where there’s really nothing that “needs” to be done.  We returned home recharged, rekindled, and more than a little bit sad to have left the beautiful smell of wood smoke mingled with cedar at the hot tub. You’ve succeeded in creating a “welcoming, non-judgmental place for men to take time for themselves”.  We look forward to seeing you both again very soon!
