New England Youth Theatre (NEYT)

Founded in 1998, the New England Youth Theatre offers a conservatory-style acting training program for young people with a combination of classroom and performance work for beginning and advanced students. Classes are small in size and taught by a professional faculty. Financial aid is available for families with serious financial need.

NEYT offers various classes to introduce students to the acting process, including: improvisation, movement, scene work, monologue, comedy, and ensemble building. Each course helps students develop their acting/communication skills and increase their self confidence. NEYT also trains students in the arts of Stage Managing, Scenic Design, Lighting, Costuming and Makeup.

Founded by Artistic Director Stephen Stearns, NEYT is committed to its mission of offering the highest quality theatre training and performances to neighboring communities in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

As children develop their communication, social, organizational and performing skills, they continually prove that youth, with professional guidance, can run their own theatre. NEYT operates year round, producing eight to ten plays and/or musicals per season. Spring brings student-directed and original works. NEYT alumni return to direct and perform in June. Summer brings performances by the Circus, Melodrama, Theatre Adventure, Best of Broadway Musical Theatre and Shakespeare camps.
