Frog Meadow’s 750-gallon wood-fired hot tub is typically heated to approximately 102-104 degrees. The tub is constructed of aromatic white cedar from Maine, and is warmed by hardwood logs harvested from Frog Meadow’s surrounding forests.
The tub’s built-in eco-friendly wood stove emits a distinctive “mini campfire” aroma which you might notice when you first arrive at Frog Meadow. There are no noisy jets, just 48-inches deep, soothing warm water so you can sit fully upright and relax among the peace and quiet.
Frog Meadow’s hot tub is the ideal way to relax, release muscle aches, stiffness, pains and renew your body and soul after a workout, a hike, or a trip to nearby Rock River. It’s also a great way to unwind immediately before or after a massage with Dave.
Some of our guests make it a habit to take a soak immediately before bedtime (Scott refers to this benignly as “paying your sleep insurance premiums”) and some of our guests enjoy “taking the waters” with a morning cup of coffee first thing in the morning!
The hot tub is located on the west side of the Main House, surrounded by native stonework, annual and perennial gardens and has wonderful late day sunlight. In spring, summer and fall the nearby hospitality cabana is where you’ll find towels for use with the hot tub & swimming pond, as well as a “community fridge” (for storing guest snacks and beverages) and barware.
Typically at the end of most days the patio area by the hot tub is where guests gather for an informal happy hour, hot tub soak, snacks and to catch up on the day’s events prior to heading out together or separately for evening meal.
Immediately next to the hot tub is a handmade, copper hot-and-cold outdoor shower with an oversize shower head that is perfect for rinsing off before and after your soak.
The outdoor shower is stocked with our signature Frog Meadow all-natural soaps, shampoos and moisturizing bodycare products for you to sample and enjoy.
The hot tub is open from 7am to 11pm during spring/summer/fall months.
