Join us for a Gay Night at the Circus! NECCA & Frog Meadow Present Queer Circus Arts Scholarship Fundraiser! May 6

Circus with a twist! Entertainment that bends the rules of gravity and more! Join NECCA’s delightfully fun and mischievous fundraising event to bolster the Frog Meadow Queer Circus Arts Scholarship Fund for LGBTQ+ students at the New England Center for Circus Arts. Welcoming and open to LGBTQ+ and allies.

With additional entertainment from drag performers Ladies of the Rainbow, Lily DeValley & Hudson De Valley, and emcee Marshall Jarreau.

Begin with hors d’oeuvres, libations, special entertainment from guest emcee and drag artists, a silent auction, and quirky fun followed by a special showing of the Capstone Circus Project La Prairie des Talons from the graduating class of NECCA’s ProTrack – pushing the boundaries of contemporary circus theater – then stay for a Meet & Greet with the Artists following the show!

Every Ticket Includes: Entry to the pre-show event, light fare and one drink ticket (cash bar for additional drinks), open seating for the 7:30 pm performance of NECCA’s ProTrack Capstone Circus Project La Prairie des Talons, and Meet & Greet with the Artists following the show. Bring your cash / checkbook for silent auction opportunities!

$250 – VIP Supporter Ticket:

- - Includes full event experience
  - Padded, close-to-the-stage performance VIP seating
  - Sponsors a guest attendee who would not normally be able to attend, gifted through partner organizations to expand the event community

$100 – General Supporter Ticket:

- - Includes full event experience
  - General performance seating

$50 – Access Ticket:

- - Includes full event experience
  - General performance seating
  - Lower ticket price for cost accessibility

LGBTQ students are faced with discrimination that leads to housing, employment, financial and other disparities. This scholarship helps to close the gap and provide a safe and inclusive environment for queer circus students of all ages and backgrounds across all of NECCA’s programs.

Dear Friends-

As a childhood trampolinist, high-diver, and adult competitive athlete, NECCA – The New England Center for Circus Arts holds a special place in my heart. For several years, Dave and I have created ways to support this transformational organization.

With organizational and board leadership, along with an estimated one third of staff identifying as LGBTQ, NECCA is unique. Youth and professional LGBTQ students report they feel safe and embraced for who they are, many for the first time, inside NECCA.

Two years ago, just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Frog Meadow hosted a benefit to launch NECCA’s Frog Meadow Queer Circus Arts Scholarship Fund. Funding from the Thompson Trust, the Samara Fund with Vermont Community Foundation and our fundraising efforts at Frog Meadow Farm helped award $9,500 in financial assistance to youth and adult, recreational and professional LGBTQ students.

We’re excited to announce that on Friday, May 6th, 2022 Frog Meadow will co-present with NECCA a special command performance and reception to benefit the LGBTQ Scholarship Fund. This action-packed and fun-filled evening will feature NECCA graduating students who are on track to become professional circus arts performers. The event takes place at NECCA’s Trapezium in Brattleboro and you’re invited to join us at this FABULOUS LGBTQ and Allies Event!!

Especially because of the challenges of the past two years, now it is more important than ever for us to support the performing and visual arts organizations that nourish and strengthen our hearts, our souls, and the LGBTQ community.

To seed this year’s scholarship fund, Dave and I have donated $2,500 to establish the Founders Circle, a fund to match general contributions to the Scholarship Fund. We will match the first $5,000 raised at 50%. That way, the first $5,000 received in general scholarship donations will automatically become $7,500!
