Most of Frog Meadow Farm’s 63 secluded acres are held in a conservation easement and managed through a state-approved, long-term forest management plan, dedicated to responsible agricultural and recreational use.

It is our mission to be an environmentally-friendly and green, mixed-use, sustainable business, caring for the land for the enjoyment of future generations. We carry out this mission of responsible land stewardship in several interconnected and interdependent ways:

Warm Hospitality
We are committed to providing a welcoming, non-judgmental and comfortable space for men to relax and shed the trappings of busy modern life. In the "aloha spirit" of Hawaii that inspired us to create Frog Meadow Farm B&B and Massage Oasis, our guests are considered “ohana”, or extended family, and are welcomed with a warm hug. It is our hope that following your stay at Frog Meadow, you will return home refreshed and renewed, having taken some of our Vermont “aloha spirit” back home with you to share with others.

Recreation, Learning & Fun
Relax, de-stress and have fun! Taken from the word “recreation”, use your time at Frog Meadow as an opportunity to re-create yourself. Enjoy Frog Meadow’s spring-fed swimming & lap pond, explore our hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails and re-connect with nature and yourself. Take the time to release muscle aches, stiffness, pains and renew your body and soul with a soak in our 750-gallon, eco-friendly wood-fired hot-tub, followed by a 60- or 90-minute therapeutic massage with Dave.

Be sure to check our special events page for frequent yoga, massage, fitness, wine-tasting, and other self-care/continuing education opportunities. Subscribe to our e-newsletter (subscribe now at the top of this page) to be up-to-date!

Agricultural & Wildlife Sustainability
Frog Meadow is located on the site of the Wheeler Farm, a 1700’s dairy farm and apple orchard that bordered historic Newfane Village’s original mountaintop site atop Newfane Hill. Our extensive perennial and annual gardens, varietal apple orchard, fruit and vegetable gardens are pollinated by our active beehives, butterflies, hummingbirds and bats who also call Frog Meadow their home. In addition, owls, hawks, songbirds, wild turkeys, pileated woodpeckers, otters, deer, the occasional moose - and of course, our many species of frogs - share their wonderful habitat with our guests.

“Localvore” Cuisine
Much of the food served at Frog Meadow Farm is from our gardens or sourced locally, most from the same zip code. The eggs, bread, cheese, apple cider and many other items served at Frog Meadow are from Newfane or the immediate surrounding area, produced by artisanal bakers, cheese makers, and local farms. In-season, you will find our own native berries, apples, cider, preserves, edible flowers, asparagus, fresh herbs - and of course, honey from our beehives - at the breakfast table!

Our quarterly “Localvore” dinners - prepared by Dave - showcase the area’s natural, organic farm-raised, lamb, beef, duck, produce, breads, pies, gelato, fresh herbs and more - and are a great way to experience the best of Vermont’s seasonal harvest! Dinners are limited to 16 guests and usually sell-out in advance. Be sure to subscribe to our e-newsletter (subscribe now at the top of this page) so you can make plans to reserve a seat at the table!

Locally Produced Products
At the Frog Meadow Store you will find our locally-produced, small-batch Fruit Preserves, hand-crafted 3-year-aged Naked Cheddar® Cheese, Brook Cottage Vermont Maple Syrup, and Vermont Maple Sugar Frog Candy.

Inspired by the spa-like tranquility of Frog Meadow Farm, our hand-made, all-natural Bodycare & Aromatherapy Products are available in our two signature fragrances, Balsam & Cedar (an aromatic, blend of balsam and cedar essential oils for the fresh and relaxing essence of the Vermont woods) or Tea Tree & Lemongrass (an antiseptic and aromatic blend of tea tree & lavender essential oils paired with the stimulating benefits of lemongrass to brighten and soothe your mood) and are featured throughout Frog Meadow for your enjoyment.  While staying with us, be sure to try our Frog Meadow Liquid Hand Soaps and Bar Soaps, Hair & Body Shampoos, Skin Moisturizers, Facial Moisturizers, Aromatherapy Candles and other natural, hand-crafted products to sooth, relax and revitalize.

Work Camp & Work-in-Kind Programs
Frog Meadow’s spring and fall Work Camp programs are 10 days of camaraderie and fun mixed in with work as we get Frog Meadow Farm ready for summer season and buttoned up for winter.

Campers can stay for a single night or for the whole 10 days! For $25/night we provide a bed, breakfast and lunch. Nightly BYOB dinners are a shared work and expense “group effort” that everyone participates in and enjoys! In return we ask for 6 hours of work for each night spent at Frog Meadow during Work Camp. There is usually tree and trail work, yard cleanup, garden work, housecleaning, outdoor furniture moving, etc. In the evening there is the hot tub, campfires and great company!

Throughout the year we are also interested in hearing from and hosting skilled gardeners, lumberjacks, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, etc. to help us with ongoing projects on a work-in-kind, or trade basis. We will happily host you – and share our aloha spirit - during non-peak/midweek periods in return for work-in-kind. Call 877.365.7242 or email Dave@frogmeadow.com for further details and availability.

Reduce, Re-use, Recycle
In the spirit of being green and minimizing our waste output, we use natural, vegetable-based, earth- and septic-friendly soaps, detergents and cleaning products whenever possible at Frog Meadow. We recycle or re-use all paper, plastic and metal containers, and compost all our renewable kitchen waste for use in our gardens. Cloth (not paper) towels are used in our kitchen and for cleaning. Cloth (not paper) napkins are used at mealtime.
