Having stayed at Frog Meadow 2 years ago, we included Vermont in our travel plans this year just so we could stay there again. Scott and Dave run a wonderful, really special place, with that home-away-from-home feeling.
The breakfasts are excellent and a great way to start the day. The location is spectacular, with views and woods as far as the eye can see. The gardens and property demonstrate great care and attention, and it's the sort of place you can hang out and do nothing while enjoying the beauty. The other guests are charming, and nothing beats that wood-fired hot tub for evening relaxation.
It's truly a special place, with outstanding hosts. We'll come back to Vermont if only to stay there again!
-SFJ&M, San Francisco, CA
We went to spend a night after attending a relative’s graduation at a nearby college in NH. we were able to decompress, spend time in the hot tub, sleep, relax, and read books. It was the most fabulous way to have some "us time". Our hosts Dave and Scott could not be more welcoming, and accommodating. The Japanese style hot tub (wood fire heated, no jets) was so peaceful in the Vermont evening peace and tranquility. We came home so relaxed!
-Ira G Hackensack, New Jersey
We arrived rather late in the evening- Dave and Scott were both there to welcome us. Instantly we felt as though we were guests in their home. The hospitality was amazing, at the same time our privacy well respected. The house and grounds are gorgeous. The facility is clothing optional, but not in a sleazy way whatsoever.
Everyone will feel comfortable here. Dave is a talented chef- breakfast is top notch- and the massage is fantastic. The service is impeccable and the staff is friendly and efficient. Jonathan, our houseboy, even folded my cloths when he serviced our suite! The location is private and secluded, yet very convenient to restaurants, hiking, and other attractions. This was one of, if not THE best bed and breakfast experiences I have ever had, at a reasonable price.
-James, Provincetown, MA
Although a hurricane had passed through this part of Vermont the day before my arrival all was well at Frog Meadow. The property was unscathed and its owners, Dave and Scott, were actively engaged in aiding the less fortunate nearby but without neglecting their guests in any way. It's a great place to stay, wholly comfortable and congenial…with such wonderful breakfasts. Thanks guys!
-Gordon B, Palm Springs, CA
My partner and I needed a break from the Texas heat this summer, and FrogMeadow was the perfect choice. Not only did we enjoy cooler weather, our trip was extra special because of our stay at FrogMeadow. We enjoyed great company, delicious food, and wonderful surroundings. We can't wait to return--maybe a fall trip to enjoy the fall foliage. I would recommend FrogMeadow to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere with all the extra touches of a four-star hotel.
-MJO, Austin, Texas
It's difficult to come up with the perfect words to describe the Frog Meadow B&B - Relaxing? Rejuvenating? Or just plain fun? Whatever those words may be, there is something completely refreshing and liberating about being on a lush and beautiful Vermont farm surrounded by friendly men in a completely non-judgmental environment. Plus - and this is the best part - you can be as clothed or unclothed as you feel comfortable with. Want to skinny dip in a crystal clear pool fed by underground springs? No problem. Want to relax fully clothed in a hammock by a small meadow with a good book amid breathtaking views of the Green Mountains beyond? Sure, why not. Here in the mountains it's all about finding your inner peace, whatever that entails. No one cares what you look like, clothed or otherwise.
Dave and Scott are the consummate hosts, going the extra mile with equal doses of wit and candor. Their little slice of heaven outside the village of Newfane is easily accessible from major highways and well worth the final, winding 2.7 mile drive uphill on an unpaved road in true rural Vermont fashion. The payoff at the end for those unaccustomed to such rustic paths is an immaculately designed and maintained post-and-beam house with a huge granite kitchen, large eating area, comfortable family room, and three large bedrooms, plus a separate loft suite over the garage with two beds, a sofabed, and kitchen that's perfect for groups. Those of a more solitary bent can opt for the literal cabin in the woods, unencumbered with modern necessities such as running water for the pure pleasure of being surrounded by nothing but the quiet sounds of chirping insects and a babbling brook amid the cleansing aroma of cedar planks.
All the rooms are comfortably furnished with Vermont wood beds, plush chairs, pillow-top mattresses, and sheets with a high enough thread count for the pickiest Queen. Ahem. Dave and Scott have a discerning eye for the smallest detail, include towels that are kept nice and toasty on a towel warmer in each room.
The best part of Frog Meadow is that there simply is never a shortage of things to do. Start the day with a hearty breakfast made fresh every morning by Dave, including banana-infused waffles served piping hot from an enormous, beeping waffle iron or perhaps crustless quiche infused with local dill and fresh onions supplemented by crunchy bacon and peppery nasturtium flowers. Dave, in addition to being a talented chef, also gives what is possibly one of the best massages on the face of the planet. We've had our fair share of professional massages through the years and believe me, his puts most therapists to shame. Dave has clearly taken his training and gone one step beyond, unencumbered quite frankly by the subliminal hangups most straight massage therapists have about the male body.
We were fortunate to be there during naked yoga weekend, where instructor Jon Poupore knew just how far to push you without requiring a chiropractic medic, whether you were a novice or seasoned pro (thanks again, Jon!) While definitely not an activity for the terminally shy, naked yoga will get you acquainted with muscles you never knew you had, all in a non-threatening and liberating environment. If yoga is not your thing, perhaps side trips to neighboring attractions like Mount Snow or the infamous Appalachian Trail (presumably sans Mark Sanford) might do the trick. Unfortunately, the Rock River nude bathing areas are now (presently) inaccessible thanks to the tragic effects of Hurricane Irene, but the Ledges bathing area is also nearby.
While Newfane is a small burg, there are enough nearby dining options to make things interesting at the end of a busy day. While we opted not to partake this time in the AAA and James Beard award-winning gourmet meals at the nearby Four Columns Inn (although other guests at Frog Meadow raved about the food), we did enjoy an excellent fish fry at funky and rustic Rick's Tavern just outside Newfane village. Excellent eclectic cafe fare such as paninis, thai noodles and crab cakes are also available at the Newfane Cafe and Creamery, and Dave and Scott were more than happy to help us heat up takeout food.
And what can you say about that glorious hot tub. Wood fired, deep, overflowing, and well stocked with nearby towels and beverages it can seat six comfortably and up to fourteen very well acquainted people. One soak under the brilliant stars with the moonlit landscape glowing beyond and all your problems - however fleetingly - disappear into a haze of steaming, swirling water. There is no better therapy in existence.
You'd have to be the greatest Scrooge in all of Scroogedom not to leave Frog Meadow rejuvenated, refreshed, and ready to take on the world. Thanks again guys for a fabulous weekend, and we'll definitely be back with our friends on tow, along with all their body issues. They can just get over it.

This was my third stay at this wonderfully hospitable, welcoming, calming, and rejuvenating B&B. The setting is ideal, with swimming, sunning, hot-tubing, hammocking, and hiking all on the property. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and there is tea/coffee available at any time.
Besides all the material reasons to favorably review this delightful getaway, an aura of friendliness and mutual respect pervades the space and creates an environment of warmth and congeniality.
I cannot recommend this Inn and its superb hosts enough!
-LR, Roslindale, MA
One never knows what to expect at the top of a windy dirt road. In Newfane, VT, however, one can expect a warm welcome to your new home away from home. One can expect to leave the cares of ordinary life at the electric fence; one can expect an amazing breakfast followed by a stellar massage; one can expect to head home feeling better than you did when you arrived. Dave and Scott have carved out a little piece of heaven atop Newfane Hill. During my two-night stay, I indulged in Dave's skill in the art of massage, and had more than a couple dips in the wood-fired hot tub. Breakfast was stellar each morning, with french toast one morning and waffles the next; the real maple syrup keep it feeling authentic! I was concerned that being on the younger side of the crowd would be awkward, but everyone was incredibly warm and I made a few new friends! Plus, Scott and Dave are so friendly, it'd be hard not to make new friends!
I stayed in the South Room; the room was spacious and comfy. My favorite place to hang out, besides the hot tub and in front of the bonfire, was on the day bed in the living room, napping while the rain fell on the skylights above. Perfect, you ask? Pretty much.
Rock River is only a few miles down the road, though I was tempted to just hang out at the B&B all day as the grounds are beautiful - I can't wait to go back and explore all the hiking trails, and maybe some x-country skiing this winter!
-Joe, Somerville, MA
I came to Frog Meadow with a group of about 12 others. I'd never been but many of the others had. I was vaguely nervous at first, but the owners were terrific and made everyone - including a newbie like myself - feel very welcome.
The owners are extremely attentive to their guests' happiness and clearly take pride in their place.
Every morning we were served a delicious fresh cooked breakfast, with plenty of coffee and tea at our disposal. The rooms and beds were all great and the entire facilities kept in top shape.
The land around the houses is gorgeous and well maintained. There's a pond right near the main house, and lots of chaises/chairs are there for relaxation with plenty of space in the sun or the shade. Also a huge hammock!
I would say the centerpiece of the whole place is right at the main house: there is a wood-fired hot tub at the main deck, surrounded by flowers and looking out toward the pond and the hills beyond. If we were chilled or whatever, everyone had a thick, plush terrycloth robe in which we could lounge around.
Overall I really had a great time and could easily see myself back there again! Highly recommended.

Just back from a refreshing, sybaritic weekend with a group of friends at Frog Meadow in Newfane, VT, just north of Brattleboro. I'm assuming this review will be on a page for the B&B such that it's already clear that this is a clothing-optional (and largely unnecessary, not least as they provide nice big cushy terrycloth robes) B&B for men near the (very fun and friendly) Rock River nude swimming hole just north of Brattleboro.
That being said, the property, a good 1000 feet above the river, up a very long but well-graded [no worries at all about a lowslung city car in summer] unpaved country road, is a stunning hillside meadow and lush country garden/orchard site crowned by a warm, handsome, beautifully crafted post & beam house full of amusing art & folk-art (and for-real, not kitsch, except where intentional and very funny) and diverting books. Hiking (and winter X-C skiing/snowshoeing) trails ring the place, and there's a fun and very clean pond (with frog population) for floating in old inner tubes or taking a swim on a hot day.
The beds are among the best I've ever slept in and the whole place is spotlessly clean and bright and cheerful, perfectly maintained by the hosts - great guys; more to follow - and their invariably smiling and friendly seasonal support staff.
The woodfired wooden hot tub out on the lushly planted stone terrace is a particular joy, especially on a starry night, with an alfresco shower, well-stocked with the B&B's proprietary bodywash products (also excellent) right alongside. Accommodation options range from a very cushy suite in the main house (and two similarly comfortable and generous bedrooms with a shared bath on the landing), to a big cushy housekeeping-style suite with a private deck over the garage-now-yoga-studio, which is ideal for a big house party group of friends.
The most magical option, if one is willing to (faux) rough it a bit (given the indoor plumbing is all up at the main house) is the "Brookside Cottage" - a lovely little wood cabin with sash windows on all sides perched right beside the burbling brook that falls through the site, at the end of a couple of hundred yards' walk (perfect for all needed privacy) down a stonewalled garden path. I stayed here on an earlier overnight visit in June, with the sound of the brook through the open windows and fireflies dancing outside all night - couldn't ask for a better mental reset. Of the options around the Brattleboro area for gay travelers and possible devotees of Rock River, this is the most sybaritic option, yet entirely reasonable at a price equivalent to, or actually a bit better than, what any of the utterly bland corporate chain hotels around charge for an ok but plasticized, utterly generic room and prepackaged breakfast.
Contrast that with owner Dave's French toast and pancakes with local maple syrup and country bacon, made while you watch (and enjoy yogurt, fruit, coffee as a warmup), all garnished with fresh berries and nasturtium blossoms from the garden (when in season, of course). No contest - now that I've found Frog Meadow, I'll never stay anywhere else when in Brattleboro. Host/owners Scott & Dave are supernice guys, welcoming, smart, very knowledgeable about local history and activities. They excel at putting their guests at ease, and are also perfectly discreet and not in anyone's space if that's more the guest's mood: it feels like visiting the country place of particularly skilled and sensitive hosts. We are all the richer for the fact that these guys have decided to open up their home to a wider circle.
-Todd, Providence, RI
Amiable and hospitable hosts. Beautiful accommodations. Amazing acreage. Beautiful views. The highlights are the wood fired hot tub and the swimming pond. This is what all B&B’s should aspire to be!
-TC, Dorchester, MA
What a great place to stay and unwind, relax and get away from it all. The property is picture perfect, the setting is magical and the hosts are friendly and engaging.
This is a great place to spend time sitting on the deck and reading a book, occasionally dipping into the wood-fired hot tub. Or getting in an inner tube like a kid and floating around the pond. Or as a base for a day at Rock River. Or to relax with a professional message and bask in the spa scents of cedar and balsam. Or as a jumping off point to see the local attractions in Vermont -- the Grafton Cheese Company is just down the road, funky old Brattleboro is a stone's throw away and the Green Mountains are the backyard. Or....plan a bit of time if you want to sample it all.
Newfane is a great little village with a 4-diamond restaurant offering tasting menus featuring local produce and there are a couple other local cafes, delis and creameries that stand out for their focused attention to really tasty food.
It’s hard to imagine a better place, and even more difficult when you consider the hosts. Dave and Scott are welcoming, proud of their little slice of heaven and eager to share its gardens, trails and local wonder with their guests. If there's something special you're looking for -- biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing, or simply a tour of the local countryside -- just ask.
And then there is breakfast. Think French toast -- deep buttery and sweet, with a custard center and doused in local maple syrup or honey collected from bees kept on the property. Thick-cut bacon, sausage patties or seasonal omelets are accompanied by fresh herbs, fruit and yogurt every morning. Or you may be lucky to have Dave's pancakes -- including blueberries and raspberries which are freshly picked from the garden.
It’s a wonderful place to meet people from all over. There's usually a chance to chat with folks in the early evening at the hot tub and find out where they're from. I was lucky to meet guys from as far away as India and Belgium, travelers from California and Canada, as well as the locals from all over New England (I'm from Connecticut, about an hour north of NYC).
It’s a relatively small place, but that allows the hosts to focus on making it a truly unique experience. It’s clear they're proud to be in Vermont and want to share it with others.
I just want to say 'Thanks' ...and I'll be back. I was lucky enough to spend more than a weekend. I hope to be able to do that again.
I could have said "good place -- recommended". But I wanted to share some of my experiences, because this place is *really* special. I hope you have the same joy and wonder after visiting. Look for the fog in the valley below the meadow, or the moon as it makes its way across the sky, with the hot tub kicking out smoke from the logs and warming your core.
-Brian D, Danbury, CT
Frog Meadow is a truly wonderful place. When I travel I usually want to go places and see or do things. Not in this B&B. The house (tastefully decorated) is on top of a hill, the end of the world, so it feels. I was completely content to be there. The view south across the valley is great, there is the pond, the hot tub.
Dave's breakfasts are excellent and his massage is very good, too. His partner Scott seemed like a mover and a shaker to me and together they keep the place in very good shape. They are a great couple! Met lots of nice guys there and some were really fun...I left Frog Meadow completely rejuvenated. When I get back to New England some year, I'll certainly go there again.
-Philippe, Antwerp Belgium
We were fortunate to have discovered this B&B when we were looking for massages during a week's stay at a property near Brattleboro with ten of our best 'couple' friends. Three years later we came back as a couple and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of this place...mountain views, gardens, hiking and swimming in the spring-fed pond. It was glorious. The eight guests were just the right number to strike up interesting conversations at the breakfast table or in the hot tub. Scott and Dave were great hosts who were very gentle and helpful, passionate about this place, its history and what it has to offer...from nude sunbathing along a stretch of Rock River to the fine dining choices all around this rural setting. All in all, a place worth returning to.
-DB, Ottawa Canada
This place is incredibly well-maintained. Scott & Dave have great taste. The whole property -- outside and in -- is gorgeous. The rooms are comfortable and immaculate. The massage I received was really soothing, restorative. The swimming pond and hot tub were refreshing and the hiking trails are vast. The general tone of this place is friendly and relaxed. Definitely worth visiting again!
-Paul C, New York, NY
The moment you arrive at Frog Meadow you are blown away by the natural beauty and the peaceful setting that envelops you. Beautiful flowers, gardens, private hiking trails, a pond with "frogs" that invites you to swim, a hammock, and a hot tub create a tranquil environment.
You are welcomed by your hosts Scott and Dave, given a private tour of the grounds and then you enter the Inn. You immediately recognize that the design, architecture, furnishings of the Inn was created with love and harmony. The attention to detail, the natural light, and the beautiful wood used throughout the house creates a perfect environment to relax and unwind.
Our room was incredibly comfortable and private. The entire Inn is spotless and clean. The other guests were friendly and yet also allowed my partner and me private time. Breakfast made to order by Dave was 5-star. He is not only a great cook, but also gives a great message.
We would highly recommend this as a very special getaway. We can't wait to return!
-Ken & JK, Boston, MA
This was my third consecutive year visiting Frog Meadow Farm. I feared I would find this visit routine and boring, but to my surprise the hosts, Dave and Scott, made my time as exceptional as ever. The accommodations are immaculate. Being a neat freak, I have yet to find a problem with any aspect of this B&B. Dave whips up a delicious and filling breakfast each morning with fresh ingredients many from their own garden. The setting is tranquil and is perfect for the traveler who wants to clear his mind, relax by the hot tub or by the pond and commune with nature. Scott and Dave are accessible and will provide information regarding the sites and sound of Newfane, the surrounding area and where to get a good dinner in the evening. My favorite is the Four Columns Inn Restaurant…it’s a little expensive, but it's my vacation and I don't mind splurging a little. And lastly, Dave's massages will highlight your stay. If you visit, be sure to schedule a 90 minute session you won't regret it!!
Folks this is a first-class establishment and well worth taking a trip to Newfane. I'm already planning next year's visit, Number 4!!
-Stan, Orchard Hill, GA
CLEAN! Nice, sweet and helpful. Top of the mountain with excellent views! HOT TUB is SWEEEEET! Will come back!
-Peter C, Plantation, Fl
Frog Meadow provides a 5-star B&B experience. The remote setting on a VT mountaintop is incredibly beautiful; the property grounds with hot tub, swimming hole and hiking trails have everything you could want in such a secluded setting. The accommodations are gorgeous and each is unique from the Main House rooms to the "glass cottage" in the woods to the "barn suite". The owners are gracious, sophisticated and knowledgeable regarding the region and make you feel completely at home and at ease. And the "massage/accommodation" package is a great offer. This was my second visit in three years and I have every intention of returning.
-John R, Easton, PA
Wow, the website pics not do this place justice...located secluded in the rolling hills of Southern VT, the views were breathtaking..with endless acres of rolling groomed meadows.
The hosts are amazing and accommodations immaculate. You can bicycle nearby, enjoy nude swimming at Rock River, relax in the wood fired-hot tub, swim in the spring-fed pond, nap in the hammock, or take advantage of a massage in the cozy and quiet massage studio overlooking the apple orchard.
-Marc, Middleton, MA
This is the most charming place tucked away on 63 acres of lush manicured fields, woods, trails and gardens, yet super convenient to Rock River, miles of roads for biking, skiing, antiquing and all the beauty of a well preserved Vermont.
The owners, Dave and Scott welcomed us with incredible hospitality. We could not have had better weather and Frog Meadow was such an awesome backdrop for a jam packed weekend of fun and memories….the property is just amazing! We felt so at home in the barn suite, so comfortable with every amenity well thought out and nothing to do to improve it.
The perfect final touch was being able to stow our bags after check out, spend an afternoon at Rock River and then return for a dip in the hot tub, an outdoor shower and a bon voyage cocktail with our hosts, it was the perfect and relaxing ending before hitting the road and heading back to reality. We will definitely plan a return sometime soon and highly recommend it.
-PJR, Windham, NH
Frog Meadow B&B is a reclusive paradise located in the mountains of Southern Vermont 30 minutes from Brattleboro. It is exclusively male and clothing optional. But, that's just the beginning. Owners Scott and Dave provide a beautiful, clean, airy, sunny, welcoming and very relaxing getaway from the tensions of everyday living. They have created an alternative to how most of us conduct our lives with their spacious, beautifully designed living spaces, meticulously but not fussily landscaped acreage, soulful massage and delicious breakfasts.
Your stay at Frog Meadow is essentially whatever you want it to be. We needed a place to relax, relax, socialize and relax. And we achieved our goals. Dave and Scott have created a destination that seems to draw friendly and interesting men and an impromptu dinner out with someone you met hours ago seems to be standard. However, if you want to be alone with your thoughts, that's easily achievable.
I'm going to stop. We loved it. We really did. We stayed for 3 nights and will definitely return. As soon as possible. If you're planning a place to stay in the country and are looking at Vermont, reserve soon because they seem to sell out early.
-Larry & Sam, Brooklyn, NY
Wonderful hosts, great food, gorgeous mountain setting, and near the Rock River and Brattleboro - highly recommend. My partner and I met great people and felt like we were leaving a wonderful summer camp after a three day stay - everyone was friendly but not intrusive - one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in.
-Michael, Newton, MA
What a lovely place! I have never seen a house so clean and organized, nor hosts so accommodating. Our kayak trip was canceled, because of the rain, so we spent lots of time at the inn. The campus was gigantic. Trails, a swimming pond, beautiful gardens a hot tub. Since the weather was so poor, we stayed with our hosts inside and they provided a very nice time for us...it was their twentieth anniversary together and they played pandora.com for us and we talked about ourselves and had a great family-type of time that was so welcoming and wonderful!
I cannot wait for the nicer weather, when I can really take advantage of the grounds at the Frog Meadow.
-BH, Greenwich, CT
Our stay in May was our seventh visit and I am in love with this little piece of paradise. Set off a dirt road in the remote hills of southern Vermont the grounds are something out of a New England picture book with ancient stone walls intermixed with beautiful lush meadows.
Our hosts Dave and Scott always make me feel like a guest in their home and not a customer. With only 5 guest rooms each visit takes on the flavor of who is there but every visit has been a delight. The focal point really is the wood fired hot tub where guests can mingle to relax and share in the delight of nature’s beauty in the hills beyond. I happen to really enjoy the clothing optional option but the fact is Frog Meadow is so low key and friendly you can be as dressed or undressed as you want and you will fit right in.
Depending upon the time of year you might hear owls exchanging greetings across the valley to a chorus of peepers or see the sky lit up by fireflies. The natural beauty and remote retreat like feel makes Frog Meadows out of the way location worth the trip and it is easy to get into a routine for your trips off the mountain. Personally I don’t know why anyone would want to leave but there are other area attractions to go visit.
Of course what’s a B&B without breakfast and Dave's Country breakfasts shine, we had apple pancakes one day and French toast the other along with fresh fruit. . Anyway if you are looking for a getaway with someone special this is a wonderful spot to visit. I know I will be back again and again.
-MR, Carver, MA
A truly beautiful place to get away from all the chaos of city life and chill among new found friends. The views are panoramic and breathtaking. The accommodations are cozy. The hot tub can be as relaxed or as frisky as you wish. It truly lives up to its claim as a rejuvenating oasis for everyone!
-Joe, New York, NY
We were planning a trip to Vermont and came across the Facebook page for Frog Meadow. The pictures were beautiful and it seemed like it would be an ideal setting at which to get married. We contacted them to ask about the details and Dave was very helpful. He explained what we needed to do to allow our Minister to marry us in Vermont. He also put us in touch with a caterer and florist. When we arrived we were treated very well. Since the suite was not booked for the nights we were going to be there we were put in that room. The setting was as beautiful as the pictures. The hosts, Dave and Scott, couldn't have been more accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure our special day was very nice. They took care of setting up the food, etc. So we didn't have to worry about anything. Dave also made a reservation at a local restaurant for us and it was exquisite.
Our Minister and his partner also stayed one night and loved it. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The grounds were meticulously kept the wood-fired hot tub was nice and relaxing. We are looking forward to returning again soon. Maybe on our 1st anniversary?!
-JFS, Hartville, OH
Wonderful rural setting. Beautiful views, quiet, relaxing. Completely modern, clean accommodations. Dave and Scott flexible to make sure your planned vacation is a success.
-Irv K, Chattanooga, TN
Great, friendly spot in beautiful Vermont. Scott and Dave are welcoming and fun. Breakfast was great. I'll definitely be back!
-MJ, New York, NY
Great place, friendly, relaxing, plenty of outdoor activities to do. The snow shoe and cross country trails were amazing too. Great base for skiing, Rock River, or trips around lower VT.
-Murph, Boston, MA
This is my second visit. I stayed once to "get away from it all" and work on a project. The secluded location makes it perfect for escaping the rat race and relaxing. I came a second time to bring my partner for a romantic long weekend.
Enjoyed an A-MAZING massage, great cooked-to-order breakfasts, coffee 24/7, and hot tubbing (note: real fire-burning hot tub soaking, not a jacuzzi). Dave and Scott are consummate hosts. This is a home away from home and the best place I've been to take the edge off and feel relaxed, rustic and pampered.
-Dave J, Chicago, IL
My second visit to Frog Meadow and it won't be my last. Dave & Scott are incredibly welcoming and the location is beautiful. This is the perfect place to relax and recharge, you won't want to leave!
-EM, Boston, MA
My Husband and I had a much-needed chance to talk, rest, eat, sleep, and enjoy each other's company in an atmosphere where there's really nothing that “needs” to be done. We returned home recharged, rekindled, and more than a little bit sad to have left the beautiful smell of wood smoke mingled with cedar at the hot tub. You've succeeded in creating a "welcoming, non-judgmental place for men to take time for themselves”. We look forward to seeing you both again very soon!
-Alex K & Travis G, Jersey City NJ
Thanks again for making us feel so welcome and for the amazing & comfortable accommodations. I look forward to returning to enjoy the peace and serenity of your beautiful property and spending time getting to know you both better. Keep well and see you soon!
-Aldo D, Montreal Canada
I really enjoyed staying at Frog Meadow and felt as relaxed as I have not been in a long time! Thank you for all your help and way of being – you are great men… a big hug to you both!
-Alexandar, Copenhagen Denmark
A quick thanks for your kindness and hospitality last weekend. As a gay man I truly found you both inspirational and left feeling refreshed both physically and mentally. I also love getting your newsletters! Hope to make a return trip in the near future. Thanks again!
-Mickey K, New York NY
Once again, The Brook Cottage allowed me to escape the city, completely. The panoramic view from the Cottage is beyond compare, especially in the winter when you can see the mountaintops through the trees. The night-time gatherings around the fireplace made me feel totally at home and the other guests were a lot of fun! You guys are surely the best hosts. Thanks again for another fantastic stay! xxxooo
-Esteban N, West Palm Beach FL
Words cannot express how much we all enjoyed this past weekend. You are the consummate hosts...down to every little detail. I think my favorite moment happened Friday night: Floating on an inner tube in the pond and watching the stars above was a magical moment I won’t soon forget!
-Matthew D, Astoria NY
The Men’s Massage Weekend was an amazing experience and a wonderful way to relax...it far exceeded my expectations! You guys have thought of everything and have created a very special place I really had the best get-away possible which was much needed. I promptly lost track of the days of the week the moment I got there; I take that as a good sign! Thanks again for everything. Can't wait to get back to Frog Meadow again real soon. xxoo
-Dean R, Montreal Canada
I had a GREAT time at last Saturday’s Potluck Dinner and wished I could have spent more time at Frog Meadow. I'm certainly going to schedule another weekend in the very near future, preferably when Rock River is open and warmer. Big hugs!
-Jim, Boston MA
I just returned home and wish I was still at Frog Meadow. This is one of the most relaxing weekends I've ever had! Everything was perfect and went beyond my expectations for feeling completely relaxed. I especially enjoyed Dave's massage and look forward to another one when I return. It was a delight meeting you both!
-Kevin McG, New York NY

A short note to thank you for the great weekend at Frog Meadow. Hope to return again soon!

You guys have a beautiful place and you both are very kind and generous people. Thank you again for everything and we will be seeing you both again very soon!

Thank you for our amazing visit to Frog Meadow Farm! I had an image in my head as to what it might be like and everything exceeded my expectations. Clearly you had a vision and your translation of that vision into reality is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is such a pleasure to combine the amazing natural beauty of Frog meadow Farm with, the camaraderie and "me too’s" and "I understands" that come from being with fellow gay/bi men.
The barn suite, grounds, main house and of course the wood-fired hot tub were spectacular in every way. Breakfast each morning was delicious and the kitchen setting with the chit chat with fellow guests from around the world was simply a delight.
Your hospitality was genuinely appreciated and I felt the room payment was more like a contribution to help my friends Dave and Scott continue to share their little piece of paradise then a business transaction. I just wanted to be sure you knew how much we appreciated what you have done…I am already looking forward to my next visit to Vermont & Frog Meadow.
-Mark, Cape Cod MA
Thanks so much for your hospitality over the weekend. It was great chatting with you both and being in your warm, serene environment! I’ll most certainly be back soon.
Warm greetings from [invisibly gay] Dorchester!

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed Frog Meadow this past weekend. It was everything that I expected and more. The accommodations and grounds are all gorgeous! It was nice getting to know you guys a bit and it was nice to see some of Brattleboro as well. It was a perfect, relaxing end-of-summer weekend for me. I'll definitely mention Frog Meadow to friends.

Thank you for the wonderful several days escape at Frog Meadow! I arrived a bit frazzled and undirected about my future. My time there in the peaceful, friendly, welcoming environment allowed me to reset my balance. Jokingly, I have told friends that “Jeffry 2.0” was shipped home from Frog Meadow, installed, and is now up and running. Hope to return soon!
-Jeffry P, Cambridge MA

Thanks for a great time. We loved your place and will definitely return soon. I can't wait to try out the bodycare products I bought once I’m home! The rest of our road trip was great, but nothing as good as being at Frog Meadow. Both of us wished we had stayed another night and bagged the theater-going in NY. Next time we will know better!
-Brian, Portland ME
A quick note of THANKS for a great weekend…the strolling of the heifers parade in Brattleboro was fun, but the real surprise was the wonderful potluck dinner where we got to meet and chat with so many really nice guys. We felt like we were returning home to visit with friends (I was going to say old - but you guys are NOT old). Big bear hugs and warm kisses to you both!
-Charlie & Tim, Philadelphia PA
Words alone cannot describe the relaxing mood of the wood-fired hot tub and manicured grounds. We'll see you next year!!
-Bob and Kevin, Fairfield CT

I think Michael & Magfret will never forget their wedding at Frog Meadow because of your dedication to making everything perfect. What a beautiful place you have…I felt so welcome!
-Ted, Ft Lauderdale FL
Thanks for your hospitality this past week. Everything was really great! It's amazing how close Newfane is to Long Island if you take the ferry…only about 130 miles using that route. Looking forward to the next time we can make it up. Thanks again- we are both still unusually relaxed! Sending you warm hugs.
-Chris and Don, Long Island NY
You have a real nice place in God's country. I plan to see about getting a group of friends together and coming up for another weekend sometime soon.
-Tom, Boston MA
Finding Frog Meadow was such a joy. My little Brook Cottage was so relaxing and warm. Your wood-fired hot tub was spectacular and so much fun with others. And your breakfast was so delicious and beautifully presented. I continue to think beautiful thoughts of you and your "refreshing sanctuary “at Frog Meadow Farm.
-JAB, Lake George NY
Thank you for the great weekend. I had a blast and was very relaxed in time for the Christmas & New Year’s Holiday crush. Again, thanks for the great time!

ESCAPE - travel agents and designers hawking fragrance are fond of dangling that word as bait, offering reprieve from a life perhaps crowded by appointments, littered with gadgets, and increasingly frayed around the edges by worries. But how often does it ever truly reach its realization? Given the indignities of modern travel, I’d wager – not so much.
And then, there’s Frog Meadow: Reverently facing a postcard perfect vista of Vermont’s undulating hills, astride a patch of land that naturally slopes and dips into plains and angles, it seems organic somehow to the acreage on which it nestles. As if it had always been here, indifferent to deadlines and the habitually frantic demands of the rest of the world, silently bearing witness to the languid march of the seasons in brush strokes of leaves or snow against a panoramic canvas. The sun sets in nothing short of a grand gesture, sinking into the horizon in a wake of orange streaks framed by tree limbs reaching out to a purple sky that eventually becomes encrusted by a million shimmering stars. It’s the sort of spectacle meant to be shared, preferably cradled in the arms of someone equally precious. And if you haven’t any one, you almost believe here is where you might find him.
Inside, guests tend to convivial chats, luxuriating in the warmth of Dave and Scott’s generous accommodations while arriving at an often simultaneous consensus of finding ways to perfect il dolce far niente. Certainly there are more than several things you can do. The point, however, is having the option of doing nothing at all. And if there ever was a place for that, consider the nook in the living room, the hot tub, the patio, the bench swing or on top of Dave’s massage table as ideal spots to do so. Shedding burdens comes easy at Frog Meadow.
Do yourself a favor and ditch the agenda, unplug the tangle of chargers, pack a bag, and, yes, oh yes…ESCAPE!
-Joe P, New York NY
Thank you for yet another very fun evening at Frog Meadow. It was great to see you guys, as always. Last Friday was exactly what we needed: having fun and relaxing with great people and great food. We can't imagine Vermont without your presence and your gift for bringing people together.
-John B & John S, Brattleboro VT
You guys single handedly (double handedly?) add so much to Vermont gay life. Your B&B is such a delightful place for the quarterly potluck dinners. Thanks very much for your wonderful efforts at creating community.
